T\u00eb krishter\u00ebt duhet t\u00eb zgjidhnin midis apostazis\u00eb (mohimit t\u00eb besimit) dhe martirizimit. N\u00eb qytetin armen t\u00eb Satal\u00ebs jetonte nj\u00eb fisnik i shquar q\u00eb quhej Efstrat, k\u00ebshilltar i rangut dukal, q\u00eb ishte noteri kryesor perandorak i qytetit. Deri n\u00eb at\u00eb koh\u00eb, e kishte mbajtur t\u00eb fsheht\u00eb faktin se ishte i krishter\u00eb, por kur pa rezistenc\u00ebn e lavdishme t\u00eb pohuesve t\u00eb besimit, ai u pushtua nga d\u00ebshira e madhe p\u00ebr t\u2019u konsideruar i denj\u00eb q\u00eb t\u00eb num\u00ebrohej s\u00eb bashku me martir\u00ebt. Por, megjithat\u00eb, ngurronte p\u00ebr shkak t\u00eb torturave, sepse kishte frik\u00eb se mos nuk kishte kuraj\u00ebn e mjaftueshme p\u00ebr t\u00eb duruar deri n\u00eb fund dhe rrinte i t\u00ebrhequr.<\/p>\n<p>P\u00ebr t\u00eb gjetur se \u00e7far\u00eb ishte vullneti i Per\u00ebndis\u00eb n\u00eb lidhje me k\u00ebt\u00eb \u00e7\u00ebshtje, ai urdh\u00ebroi nj\u00eb prej sh\u00ebrb\u00ebtor\u00ebve t\u00eb tij t\u00eb merrte shiritin e ofiqit t\u00eb tij dhe ta vendoste mbi altarin e kish\u00ebs s\u00eb qytetit. Pastaj t\u2019i tregonte n\u00ebse ishte prifti Afksent ai q\u00eb do t\u00eb futej i pari ose jo brenda. Kur kjo gj\u00eb ndodhi, at\u00ebher\u00eb Efstrati mori guxim t\u00eb madh nga kjo shenj\u00eb duke mos pasur frik\u00eb prej atyre q\u00eb jan\u00eb t\u00eb aft\u00eb t\u00eb vrasin vet\u00ebm trupin (shih Matth. 10:28). Ai ftoi miqt\u00eb dhe familjen e tij, p\u00ebr t\u2019u g\u00ebzuar bashk\u00eb me t\u00eb n\u00eb nj\u00eb banket t\u00eb madh, t\u00eb shtruar me k\u00ebt\u00eb rast, gjat\u00eb t\u00eb cilit u b\u00ebri t\u00eb ditur se shpejt do t\u00eb fitonte nj\u00eb thesar q\u00eb nuk mbaronte kurr\u00eb.<\/p>\n<p>Dit\u00ebn tjet\u00ebr guvernatori Lisia po merrej me disa t\u00eb burgosur t\u00eb krishter\u00eb n\u00eb gjykat\u00ebn q\u00eb ndodhej n\u00eb qend\u00ebr t\u00eb qytetit. N\u00eb at\u00eb \u00e7ast, p\u00ebr habi t\u00eb guvernatorit, hyri brenda Efstrati dhe i k\u00ebrkoi t\u00eb ndante t\u00eb nj\u00ebjtin short me t\u00eb burgosurit. Meq\u00eb ai ishte t\u00ebr\u00ebsisht serioz n\u00eb ato q\u00eb thoshte, e zhvesh\u00ebn nga rrobat zyrtare dhe shiriti i ofiqit dhe e rrah\u00ebn me kamxhik. Pastaj e var\u00ebn me litar\u00eb sip\u00ebr nj\u00eb mangalli t\u00eb madh t\u00eb nxehur dhe e rrah\u00ebn p\u00ebrs\u00ebri mizorisht. Duke mos menduar fare rreth dhimbjes, sikur t\u00eb mos ishte trupi i tij q\u00eb po torturohej, ai fal\u00ebnderoi Lisian q\u00eb po i sillte kaq shum\u00eb g\u00ebzim dhe tha: \u201cTani e di se jam n\u00eb kish\u00ebn e Per\u00ebndis\u00eb dhe se Shpirti i Shenjt\u00eb banon tek un\u00eb\u201d. Plag\u00ebt iu mbyll\u00ebn q\u00eb at\u00eb nat\u00eb, edhe pse xhelat\u00ebt kishin hedhur krip\u00eb dhe uthull mbi to. Evgjeni, nj\u00eb bashk\u00ebqytetar dhe punonj\u00ebs i zyr\u00ebs s\u00eb tij, duke par\u00eb q\u00ebndrueshm\u00ebrin\u00eb e martirit dhe Hirin q\u00eb e ndihmonte, shkoi me nxitim te gjykat\u00ebsi dhe i k\u00ebrkoi t\u00eb burgosej me Efstratin dhe konfesor\u00ebt e tjer\u00eb t\u00eb besimit.<\/p>\n<p>Her\u00ebt n\u00eb m\u00ebngjes, t\u00eb burgosurit i nxor\u00ebn nga burgu dhe i vun\u00eb t\u00eb ecnin k\u00ebmb\u00ebzbathur drejt Nikopoj\u00ebs, p\u00ebrve\u00e7 Efstratit, t\u00eb cilin Lisia e veshi me sandale ku ishin mb\u00ebrthyer gozhd\u00eb t\u00eb mprehta, p\u00ebr t\u2019u tallur me rangun e tij shoq\u00ebror. Duke ecur mundimsh\u00ebm p\u00ebr 2 dit\u00eb me radh\u00eb, ata arrit\u00ebn deri n\u00eb Arauraka, qyteti i lindjes s\u00eb Efstratit. Aty u njoh nga Mardari, q\u00eb kishte dal\u00eb n\u00eb dritare p\u00ebr t\u00eb par\u00eb t\u00eb burgosurit. Mardari u mbush me admirim p\u00ebr shenjtorin q\u00eb kishte braktisur p\u00ebr hir t\u00eb besimit \u00e7do lavdi njer\u00ebzore dhe tok\u00ebsore. I inkurajuar nga gruaja e tij, ai vendosi t\u00eb pohonte haptazi besimin dhe t\u2019u bashkohej shenjtor\u00ebve. P\u00ebrkujdesjen ndaj familjes ia besoi nj\u00eb miku besnik dhe iu dha lamtumir\u00ebn 2 f\u00ebmij\u00ebve t\u00eb tij. Pas k\u00ebsaj iu dor\u00ebzua eskort\u00ebs ushtarake, duke pohuar besimin e tij t\u00eb krishter\u00eb dhe duke iu bashkuar nx\u00ebn\u00ebsve t\u00eb lavdish\u00ebm t\u00eb Krishtit.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00eb Nikopoj\u00eb, i pari q\u00eb doli p\u00ebrpara Lisias ishte prifti Afksent. Pas nj\u00eb seance t\u00eb shpejt\u00eb, ai u mor dhe u \u00e7ua thell\u00eb n\u00eb pyll, ku edhe iu pre koka. Trupi i tij u la si ushqim p\u00ebr kafsh\u00ebt e egra por, sipas vullnetit t\u00eb Per\u00ebndis\u00eb, disa t\u00eb krishter\u00eb shpres\u00ebtar\u00eb erdh\u00ebn dhe e mor\u00ebn. Madje u ndihmuan edhe nga nj\u00eb korb q\u00eb u tregoi vendin ku ndodhej koka.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00eb pas soll\u00ebn Mardarin p\u00ebrpara gjyqit, por \u00e7do pyetjeje t\u00eb Lisias ai i p\u00ebrgjigjej n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb lakonike: \u201cUn\u00eb jam i krishter\u00eb!\u201d. Lisia urdh\u00ebroi ushtar\u00ebt t\u2019i shponin brinj\u00ebt me thik\u00eb, ta varnin me kok\u00ebn posht\u00eb dhe ta rrihnin p\u00ebr vdekje me hekur t\u00eb skuqur. Para se t\u00eb jepte shpirt, Mardari tha nj\u00eb lutje q\u00eb p\u00ebrs\u00ebritet \u00e7do dit\u00eb n\u00eb Kish\u00ebn Orthodhokse: \u201cO Per\u00ebndi Zot, At\u00eb i t\u00ebr\u00ebfuqish\u00ebm; O Zot, Bir i vet\u00ebmlindur, Jisu Krisht, dhe Shpirti i Shenjt\u00eb, Nj\u00eb Hyjni, nj\u00eb Fuqi; m\u00ebshirom\u00eb mua m\u00ebkatarin dhe, sipas gjykimeve q\u00eb Ti i di, shp\u00ebtom\u00eb mua sh\u00ebrb\u00ebtorin t\u00ebnd t\u00eb pavyer, se i bekuar je n\u00eb jet\u00eb t\u00eb jet\u00ebve. Ai urdh\u00ebroi t\u2019i priteshin gjuha dhe duart, nd\u00ebrsa gjymtyr\u00ebt e tjera t\u2019i thyheshin me shkopinj, k\u00ebshtu q\u00eb shenjtori i Per\u00ebndis\u00eb dha shpirt mes mundimeve t\u00eb m\u00ebdha.<\/p>\n<p>Pas k\u00ebsaj Lisia shkoi t\u00eb shikonte ushtrimet dhe st\u00ebrvitjen e trupave t\u00eb tij ushtarak\u00eb. Ai u habit shum\u00eb nga sjellja dhe pamja e mir\u00eb e nj\u00eb rekruti q\u00eb quhej Orest, por nd\u00ebrsa ushtari po hidhte shtiz\u00ebn, Lisia pa nj\u00eb kryq t\u00eb vog\u00ebl ari n\u00eb qaf\u00ebn e tij. Oresti pranoi pa ngurrim p\u00ebrpara Lisias se ishte nx\u00ebn\u00ebs i Krishtit. Ai u arrestua n\u00eb vend dhe u d\u00ebrgua bashk\u00eb me Efstratin p\u00ebr t\u00eb dal\u00eb p\u00ebrpara Agrikol\u00ebs, guvernatorit t\u00eb Sebast\u00ebs (tani Sivas), sepse Lisia kishte frik\u00eb se mos reagonte komuniteti i madh i t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve t\u00eb Nikopoj\u00ebs.<\/p>\n<p>Ata mb\u00ebrrit\u00ebn n\u00eb Sebasti pas nj\u00eb ecjeje t\u00eb lodhshme 5 ditore. Efstratin e soll\u00ebn p\u00ebrpara guvernatorit q\u00eb donte ta fuste shenjtorin n\u00eb debat. Sh\u00ebrb\u00ebtori fisnik i Krishtit, duke pasur nj\u00eb dije t\u00eb thell\u00eb, nuk pati v\u00ebshtir\u00ebsi t\u2019i tregonte me argumente kot\u00ebsin\u00eb dhe absurditetin e kultit pagan, si dhe at\u00eb t\u00eb filozofis\u00eb. Ai i dha Agrikol\u00ebs nj\u00eb shpjegim t\u00eb shkurt\u00ebr, por mjaft t\u00eb frym\u00ebzuar, se Per\u00ebndia, p\u00ebr t\u00eb na mbushur plot me Hirin e Tij n\u00eb personin e Jisu Krishtit, ka shfaqur zem\u00ebrgjer\u00ebsi t\u00eb madhe ndaj gjinis\u00eb njer\u00ebzore, q\u00eb nga fillimi i koh\u00ebs. Agrikola, duke i kund\u00ebrshtuar me kok\u00ebfort\u00ebsi argumentet e Efstratit, iu kujtoi atij se u detyrohej bindje t\u00eb plot\u00eb urdhrave t\u00eb perandorit dhe se refuzimi i adhurimit t\u00eb idhujve t\u00eb perandoris\u00eb p\u00ebrb\u00ebnte nj\u00eb krim kapital. Megjithat\u00eb, ai e shtyu n\u00eb koh\u00eb ekzekutimin p\u00ebr t\u2019i zgjatur atij dhimbjen dhe urdh\u00ebroi q\u00eb t\u2019i sillnin aty Orestin dhe ta shtrinin mbi nj\u00eb shtrat hekuri t\u00eb skuqur n\u00eb zjarr. Djaloshi i ri n\u00eb fillim e pa me tmerr tortur\u00ebn e b\u00ebr\u00eb gati, por Efstrati e nxiti t\u00eb duronte fort deri n\u00eb fund dhe, pasi mori zem\u00ebr, Oresti rendi vet\u00eb p\u00ebrpara duke th\u00ebn\u00eb: \u201cZot, po e dor\u00ebzoj shpirtin tim n\u00eb dor\u00ebn t\u00ebnde\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Pasi e kthyen n\u00eb burg p\u00ebr nat\u00ebn e fundit n\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb bot\u00eb, Efstrati u vizitua fshehtazi nga sh\u00ebn Vlashi, episkopi i Sevastis\u00eb (11 Shkurt), q\u00eb i premtoi se do t\u00eb plot\u00ebsonte k\u00ebrkesat e tij t\u00eb fundit dhe se do t\u00eb sillte lipsanet e 7 shok\u00ebve t\u00eb tij n\u00eb Arauraka. Pasi e kaluan nat\u00ebn me biseda shpirt\u00ebrore dhe lutje, episkopi kreu Liturgjin\u00eb Hyjnore. N\u00eb \u00e7astin e kungimit qelia u mbush papritur me drit\u00eb qiellore verbuese dhe nj\u00eb z\u00eb iu drejtua Efstratit, duke i th\u00ebn\u00eb: \u201cTi ke luftuar mir\u00eb. Tani, eja t\u00eb marr\u00ebsh kuror\u00ebn\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Pasi u p\u00ebrkul deri n\u00eb tok\u00eb, sh\u00ebn Efstrati iu lut me gjith\u00eb zem\u00ebr Per\u00ebndis\u00eb q\u00eb t\u2019i falte kuraj\u00ebn e domosdoshme n\u00eb betej\u00ebn finale q\u00eb do t\u00eb kryente. At\u00ebher\u00eb ai u ngrit, u kthye me vendosm\u00ebri drejt furr\u00ebs q\u00eb ishte ndezur tashm\u00eb, e bekoi me dor\u00ebn e tij dhe hyri brenda saj, duke lavd\u00ebruar Per\u00ebndin\u00eb nj\u00ebsoj si Tre Djemt\u00eb n\u00eb Babiloni (Dan. 3).<\/p>\n<p>Q\u00eb nga ajo koh\u00eb e deri n\u00eb dit\u00ebt tona, 5 martir\u00ebt e lavdish\u00ebm nuk kan\u00eb reshtur s\u00eb kryeri mrekulli me an\u00eb t\u00eb lipsaneve t\u00eb tyre p\u00ebr t\u00eb fuqizuar besimtar\u00ebt, ose me an\u00eb t\u00eb ikonave apo madje edhe drejtp\u00ebrdrejt ata vet\u00eb. P.sh. n\u00eb ishullin Hios, tregohet se, gjat\u00eb nj\u00eb dimri t\u00eb ashp\u00ebr, kur asnj\u00eb prift nuk mundej dot t\u00eb shkonte n\u00eb kish\u00ebn e Pes\u00eb Martir\u00ebve, dit\u00ebn e fest\u00ebs s\u00eb tyre, pasi ajo ndodhej larg, vet\u00ebm nj\u00eb klerik shpres\u00ebtar vendosi t\u00eb shkonte. Nuk kishte asnjeri, megjithat\u00eb ai vendosi ta kryente i vet\u00ebm sh\u00ebrbes\u00ebn dhe, nd\u00ebrsa filloi, pa papritur 5 persona t\u00eb ngjash\u00ebm me shenjtor\u00ebt n\u00eb ikon\u00ebn e tyre. Ata q\u00ebndruan te psaltiri dhe nis\u00ebn t\u00eb psalin t\u00eb gjitha himnet e fest\u00ebs me z\u00eb t\u00eb qart\u00eb. Kur erdhi koha p\u00ebr t\u00eb lexuar Sinaksarin e martirizimit t\u00eb tyre, Oresti e vendosi psaltirin n\u00eb mesin e kish\u00ebs dhe nisi t\u00eb lexonte.<\/p>\n<p>Kur mb\u00ebrriti n\u00eb p\u00ebrshkrimin e \u00e7astit t\u00eb ngurrimit t\u00eb tij, ai e ndryshoi tekstin paksa dhe lexoi \u201cai vuri buz\u00ebn n\u00eb gaz\u201d n\u00eb vend \u201cu frik\u00ebsua\u201d. At\u00ebher\u00eb nd\u00ebrhyri Efstrati dhe i tha me nj\u00eb ton t\u00eb rrept\u00eb: \u201cTani lexo sakt\u00ebsisht at\u00eb q\u00eb ndodhi at\u00ebher\u00eb!\u201d. Oresti, i skuqur n\u00eb fytyr\u00eb, lexoi p\u00ebrs\u00ebri \u201cdhe ai u frik\u00ebsua\u201d. N\u00eb fund t\u00eb agripnis\u00eb, shenjtor\u00ebt mbyll\u00ebn librat dhe u b\u00ebn\u00eb t\u00eb paduksh\u00ebm p\u00ebrs\u00ebri, duke u larguar nj\u00ebsoj si\u00e7 kishin ardhur n\u00eb
