E edukuan n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00ebn m\u00eb t\u00eb mir\u00eb me dashuri p\u00ebr Shkrimet e Shenjta dhe e ushqyen me zellin p\u00ebr virtytet. Mbeti jetim, dhe pasurin\u00eb q\u00eb pati e shp\u00ebrndau te t\u00eb varf\u00ebrit. K\u00ebshtu u b\u00eb murg me emrin Nikanor. I shp\u00ebrndau shpejt gjith\u00e7ka q\u00eb i kishte mbetur, e braktisi Selanikun dhe u nis p\u00ebr rrug\u00eb. N\u00ebp\u00ebr fshatra dhe qytete ku kalonte, predikonte fjal\u00ebn e Per\u00ebndis\u00eb. Jetoi p\u00ebr disa koh\u00eb n\u00eb Saraqin\u00eb ku b\u00ebri mrekulli t\u00eb m\u00ebdha, por fama e mir\u00eb q\u00eb pati e detyroi t\u00eb t\u00ebrhiqej n\u00eb malin Kalistrat, n\u00eb nj\u00eb shpell\u00eb ku futeshe me v\u00ebshtir\u00ebsi.<\/p>\n<p>Por djalli, i cili nuk i duronte dot betejat e tij, i solli shum\u00eb v\u00ebshtir\u00ebsi, por shenjti i p\u00ebrballoi me emrin e Jisuit dhe me shenj\u00ebn e Kryqit. Edhe pas fjetjes s\u00eb tij, demon\u00ebt e shkat\u00ebrruan shpell\u00ebn e tij nga frika se mos vendosej ndonj\u00eb tjet\u00ebr luft\u00ebtar atje. Ushtrimi asketik dhe varf\u00ebria ekstreme e sh\u00ebn Nikanorit nuk mund t\u00eb mbeteshin t\u00eb fshehura. Ai t\u00ebrhoqi v\u00ebmendjen e sh\u00ebn Dionisit t\u00eb Olimpit (23 janar), i cili u tha nj\u00ebher\u00eb nx\u00ebn\u00ebsve t\u00eb tij: \u201cJa thesari q\u00eb fshihet n\u00ebn k\u00ebto rr\u00ebnoja!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dikur dy t\u00eb krishter\u00eb t\u00eb pasur shkuan n\u00eb shpell\u00ebn e Nikanorit dhe i k\u00ebrkuan t\u2019i pranonte si nx\u00ebn\u00ebs. I priti me nderim, por i qortoi q\u00eb kishin braktisur sh\u00ebn Dionisin p\u00ebr t\u00eb ardhur tek ai. I veshi me skim\u00ebn engj\u00ebllore. Pas tyre erdh\u00ebn edhe shum\u00eb dishepuj t\u00eb tjer\u00eb dhe v\u00ebllaz\u00ebria e Nikanorit u rrit. Nd\u00ebrtuan manastirin e vjet\u00ebr t\u00eb Prodhromit t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb, i cili ndodhej disa metra larg nga shpella. Nj\u00eb nat\u00eb, shenjti d\u00ebgjoi nj\u00eb z\u00eb ta urdh\u00ebronte q\u00eb t\u00eb shkonte n\u00eb maj\u00ebn e malit, sepse do t\u00eb gjente t\u00eb fshehur nj\u00eb ikon\u00eb t\u00eb vjet\u00ebr t\u00eb Shp\u00ebtimtarit. Filloi k\u00ebrkimet s\u00eb bashku me murgjit dhe pun\u00ebtor\u00ebt, dhe atje nd\u00ebrtuan nj\u00eb kish\u00eb kushtuar fest\u00ebs s\u00eb Metamorfoz\u00ebs. Pas disa vjet\u00ebsh ky manastir num\u00ebronte numrin m\u00eb t\u00eb madh t\u00eb murgjve n\u00eb t\u00ebr\u00eb zon\u00ebn.<\/p>\n<p>Tri dit\u00eb para se t\u00eb vdiste, i mblodhi murgjit dhe iu la testamentin n\u00eb t\u00eb cilin i k\u00ebshillonte t\u2019i ruanin me besnik\u00ebri traditat e Et\u00ebrve t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb dhe Tipikon\u00eb e sh\u00ebn Sav\u00ebs. Vendosi q\u00eb n\u00eb manastir nuk do t\u00eb hynin femra e f\u00ebmij\u00eb dhe se igumeni i tij do t\u00eb zgjidhej n\u00eb prani t\u00eb igumen\u00ebve t\u00eb manastireve: t\u00eb Shp\u00ebrfytyrimit, t\u00eb Varlaamit, t\u00eb Meteor\u00ebs dhe t\u00eb Skitit t\u00eb Pararend\u00ebsit, themeluar nga sh\u00ebn Dionisi, dhe se do t\u2019i jepnin shkopin e tij si
