Megjithat\u00eb, p\u00ebr shkak t\u00eb zilis\u00eb s\u00eb djallit, miq\u00ebsia midis priftit Saprik dhe laikut Niqifor u kthye n\u00eb urrejtje t\u00eb skajshme. Niqifori vendosi t\u00eb shkonte vet\u00eb personalisht dhe u hodh te k\u00ebmb\u00ebt e Saprikut, me shpres\u00eb se ai do t\u00eb zbutej. Por prifti i pam\u00ebshirsh\u00ebm u largua pa i hedhur qoft\u00eb edhe nj\u00eb v\u00ebshtrim mikut t\u00eb tij, q\u00eb e luste i gjunj\u00ebzuar.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00eb at\u00eb koh\u00eb nisi nj\u00eb persekutim i ri kund\u00ebr t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve dhe Saprikun e arrestuan dhe e shpun\u00eb p\u00ebrpara prokonsullit p\u00ebr ta gjykuar. Ai nuk e mohoi faktin se ishte prift i krishter\u00eb dhe se p\u00ebr t\u00eb ishte m\u00eb mir\u00eb t\u00eb vdiste, sesa t\u2019u ofronte sakrific\u00eb idhujve t\u00eb rrem\u00eb. Mbeti i pal\u00ebkundur edhe gjat\u00eb torturave dhe p\u00ebr k\u00ebt\u00eb arsye u d\u00ebnua me vdekje, me prerje koke. Niqifori ishte i shqet\u00ebsuar p\u00ebr Saprikun, i cili ishte ende armik p\u00ebr t\u00eb e p\u00ebr k\u00ebt\u00eb arsye do ta sakrifikonte jet\u00ebn m\u00eb kot p\u00ebr hir t\u00eb emrit t\u00eb Krishtit. K\u00ebshtu, kur Saprikun po e \u00e7onin drejt vendit t\u00eb ekzekutimit, ai u hodh n\u00eb k\u00ebmb\u00ebt e tij, duke thirrur: \u201cMartir i Krishtit, falm\u00eb fyerjet p\u00ebr t\u00eb cilat je i zem\u00ebruar me mua!\u201d. I ftoht\u00eb si guri, Sapriku vazhdoi m\u00eb tej rrug\u00ebn. Por Niqifori vazhdonte t\u2019i k\u00ebrkonte falje duke e ndjekur pas mikun e tij, t\u00eb cilin ushtar\u00ebt e shtynin me forc\u00eb, por pa rezultat. Ai b\u00ebri edhe nj\u00eb p\u00ebrpjekje t\u00eb fundit, kur eskorta arriti n\u00eb vendin e caktuar, por Sapriku iu p\u00ebrgjigj me zem\u00ebrat\u00eb dhe p\u00ebrbuzje lot\u00ebve t\u00eb Niqiforit.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00eb \u00e7astin kur xhelati ngriti shpat\u00ebn, kur kurora e pavyshkur e martirizimit ishte gati t\u00eb zbriste nga qielli, Per\u00ebndia e t\u00ebrhoqi hirin e tij nga Sapriku i pavyer. Ai iu kthye xhelatit dhe e pyeti: \u201cP\u00ebrse k\u00ebrkon t\u00eb m\u00eb pres\u00ebsh kok\u00ebn?\u201d. &#8211; \u201cSepse ti nuk i bindesh urdhrit t\u00eb perandorit p\u00ebr t\u2019iu falur idhujve\u201d. \u201cMos m\u00eb vrit p\u00ebr k\u00ebt\u00eb, sepse jam gati t\u2019u sakrifikoj idhujve\u201d &#8211; i tha Sapriku xhelatit. Niqifori i thirri: \u201cJo, v\u00ebllai im i shtrenjt\u00eb, mos b\u00ebj k\u00ebshtu. Mos e humb kuror\u00ebn p\u00ebr t\u00eb cil\u00ebn ti ke vuajtur kaq shum\u00eb, duke e mohuar Zotin!\u201d. Por Sapriku, q\u00eb kishte mbetur i shurdh\u00ebr ndaj k\u00ebrkes\u00ebs s\u00eb mikut t\u00eb tij p\u00ebr ta falur, nuk d\u00ebgjonte m\u00eb. At\u00ebher\u00eb Niqifori iu kthye xhelat\u00ebve dhe u tha: \u201cUn\u00eb jam i krishter\u00eb! Besoj te Zoti yn\u00eb Jisu Krisht, q\u00eb ai e ka mohuar. Ma prisni mua kok\u00ebn n\u00eb vend t\u00eb tij!\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Guvernatori u informua p\u00ebr gjith\u00e7ka dhe dha urdh\u00ebr ta lironin Saprikun dhe t\u00eb ekzekutonin Niqiforin n\u00eb vend t\u00eb tij. Shenjti e uli kok\u00ebn i bindur dhe me g\u00ebzim p\u00ebrpara shpat\u00ebs s\u00eb xhelatit dhe, duke ndjekur shembullin e Krishtit, e ofroi veten e tij n\u00eb vend t\u00eb atij q\u00eb, p\u00ebr shkak t\u00eb egoizmit dhe zem\u00ebr ngurt\u00ebsis\u00eb, kishte hedhur posht\u00eb shp\u00ebrblimin e t\u00eb gjitha p\u00ebrpjekjeve. Me k\u00ebt\u00eb shembull t\u00eb martirizimit sh\u00ebn Niqifori na la ne t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve nj\u00eb shembull t\u00eb gjall\u00eb t\u00eb fjal\u00ebve t\u00eb frym\u00ebzuara nga Shpirti i Shenjt\u00eb: Edhe sikur t\u00eb dor\u00ebzoj trupin tim q\u00eb t\u00eb digjet, e dashuri t\u00eb mos kem, nuk m\u00eb b\u00ebn fare dobi (1 Kor. 13:3).
