Q\u00eb n\u00eb mosh\u00eb tep\u00ebr t\u00eb re ia p\u00ebrkushtoi veten Zotit dhe punoi p\u00ebr lart\u00ebsimin e bukuris\u00eb s\u00eb saj t\u00eb rrall\u00eb me besimin e v\u00ebrtet\u00eb dhe virtytet e shenjta. Kur e soll\u00ebn p\u00ebrs\u00ebri n\u00eb gjykat\u00eb, Kuintiniani i tha: \u201cP\u00ebrse sillesh si skllave, kur vjen nga nj\u00eb familje e madhe fisnik\u00ebsh?\u201d. \u201cSepse jam nj\u00eb skllave e Krishtit dhe kushdo q\u00eb i sh\u00ebrben Krishtit, \u00ebsht\u00eb m\u00eb i lir\u00eb se t\u00eb gjith\u00eb njer\u00ebzit e tjer\u00eb, sepse kan\u00eb fituar zot\u00ebrimin mbi veten me an\u00eb t\u00eb hirit t\u00eb Tij\u201d. Kur pa se vajza tallej me hyjnit\u00eb pagane n\u00eb vend q\u00eb t\u2019i adhuronte, prefekti e gjuajti me shuplak\u00eb n\u00eb fytyr\u00eb dhe e futi n\u00eb burg, nd\u00ebrkoh\u00eb q\u00eb p\u00ebrcaktoi edhe torturat q\u00eb do t\u00eb vuante.<\/p>\n<p>Dit\u00ebn tjet\u00ebr, e urdh\u00ebruan t\u00eb sakrifikonte n\u00ebse donte t\u00eb shp\u00ebtonte jet\u00ebn. Por ajo u p\u00ebrgjigj se jetojm\u00eb dhe shp\u00ebtojm\u00eb me an\u00eb t\u00eb Krishtit, Birit t\u00eb Per\u00ebndis\u00eb s\u00eb gjall\u00eb. E shtrin\u00eb n\u00eb nj\u00eb skar\u00eb dhe nis\u00ebn ta godisnin me shkopinj t\u00eb pajisur me maja hekuri si \u00e7engel dhe ia dogj\u00ebn plag\u00ebt me pishtar\u00eb t\u00eb ndezur. \u201cTorturat jan\u00eb g\u00ebzim i madh p\u00ebr mua, o prefekt,\u201d &#8211; i tha ajo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMisri nuk mund t\u00eb futet n\u00eb hambar pa filluar t\u00eb shkoqet dhe pa e shk\u00ebputur nga bima, k\u00ebshtu edhe shpirti im nuk mund t\u00eb arrij\u00eb n\u00eb lumturin\u00eb e p\u00ebrjetshme, pa u ndar\u00eb me an\u00eb t\u00eb torturave nga trupi im\u201d. Por gjat\u00eb nat\u00ebs, engj\u00eblli i saj mbrojt\u00ebs solli apostull Petron t\u00eb rrethuar nga nj\u00eb nj\u00eb drit\u00eb e shk\u00eblqyer dhe ai ia sh\u00ebroi t\u00eb gjitha plag\u00ebt.<\/p>\n<p>Kuintiniani e nxori Agathin\u00eb p\u00ebr her\u00eb t\u00eb kat\u00ebrt p\u00ebrpara gjyqit. Ai u habit nga sh\u00ebrimit i saj i mrekulluesh\u00ebm dhe urdh\u00ebroi q\u00eb ta vinin mbi nj\u00eb shtrat hekuri t\u00eb mbushur plot th\u00ebngjij t\u00eb nxeht\u00eb. Papritur, i t\u00ebr\u00eb qyteti u l\u00ebkund nga nj\u00eb t\u00ebrmet dhe nj\u00eb pjes\u00eb e pallatit u shkat\u00ebrrua. Banor\u00ebt t\u00eb trembur vrapuan n\u00eb gjykat\u00eb dhe k\u00ebrc\u00ebnuan Kuintinianin se do ta digjnin, n\u00ebse ai nuk do ta lironte Agathin\u00eb. Torturuesit e saj u larguan dhe shenjtoren e burgos\u00ebn p\u00ebrs\u00ebri. Ajo iu lut Zotit, i Cili i fali q\u00ebndres\u00eb ndaj torturave, q\u00eb ta b\u00ebnte t\u00eb denj\u00eb t\u00eb shikonte lavdin\u00eb e fytyr\u00ebs s\u00eb Tij dhe k\u00ebshtu ia dor\u00ebzoi shpirtin e saj Per\u00ebndis\u00eb.<\/p>\n<p>Kur d\u00ebgjoi k\u00ebt\u00eb lajm, populli rendi n\u00eb burg me miro dhe aroma p\u00ebr ta varrosur. Nd\u00ebrsa trupin e Agathis\u00eb po e fusnin n\u00eb nj\u00eb sarkofag porfiri, engj\u00eblli i saj mbrojt\u00ebs u shfaq n\u00eb qytet si nj\u00eb i ri i shndritsh\u00ebm, i shoq\u00ebruar nga 100 djem t\u00eb vegj\u00ebl t\u00eb veshur me t\u00eb bardha. Ai vendosi nj\u00eb pllak\u00eb mermeri t\u00eb gdhendur mbi varr, n\u00eb t\u00eb cil\u00ebn ishte shkruar: \u201cShpirt i shenjt\u00eb dhe i devotsh\u00ebm, nderim Per\u00ebndie dhe mbrojtje e vendit\u201d. Pas k\u00ebsaj engj\u00eblli u largua.<\/p>\n<p>Kuintiniani i pabes\u00eb kurr\u00eb nuk arriti t\u00eb merrte pron\u00ebn e sh\u00ebn Agathis\u00eb, sepse vdiq n\u00eb nj\u00eb aksident: karroca me t\u00eb cil\u00ebn udh\u00ebtonte ra n\u00eb lum\u00eb. N\u00eb p\u00ebrvjetorin e par\u00eb t\u00eb fjetjes s\u00eb Agathis\u00eb, shp\u00ebrtheu mali Etna dhe Katania shp\u00ebtoi p\u00ebr mrekulli nga llava e zjarrt\u00eb. T\u00eb krishter\u00eb dhe pagan\u00eb bashk\u00eb shkuan pran\u00eb varrit t\u00eb shenjtores, hap\u00ebn kapakun e sarkofagut, mor\u00ebn trupin e saj dhe e shpun\u00eb p\u00ebrball\u00eb lumit t\u00eb zjarrt\u00eb. Llava ndaloi menj\u00ebher\u00eb dhe kjo mrekulli u p\u00ebrs\u00ebrit shum\u00eb her\u00eb gjat\u00eb shekujve. N\u00eb dit\u00ebt tona sh\u00ebn Agathia nderohet nga populli i Katanias si mbrojt\u00ebse e qytetit.
