Ata q\u00eb shkonin tek ai, i k\u00ebshillonte: \u201cN\u00ebse doni t\u00eb mos s\u00ebmureni, ruhuni nga m\u00ebkati. Sepse s\u00ebmundja \u00ebsht\u00eb shpesh pasoj\u00eb e m\u00ebkatit\u201d. Sh\u00ebronte trupat me an\u00eb t\u00eb lutjes dhe i sillte n\u00eb jet\u00eb shpirtrat e atyre q\u00eb kishin r\u00ebn\u00eb n\u00eb idhujtari. Duke par\u00eb suksesin e tij, pagan\u00ebt e denoncuan te qeveritari i qytetit, njeri i ashp\u00ebr dhe mizor, t\u00eb cilin Diokleciani e kishte ngarkuar t\u00eb p\u00ebrndiqte t\u00eb krishter\u00ebt (rreth 303). Nuk arrit\u00ebn dot ta arrestonin, sepse shenjti u arratis dhe arriti n\u00eb Arabi, ku u b\u00eb murg dhe fitoi fam\u00eb t\u00eb madhe nga mrekullit\u00eb q\u00eb b\u00ebnte vet\u00ebm duke b\u00ebr\u00eb shenj\u00ebn e kryqit.<\/p>\n<p>P\u00ebr t\u00eb d\u00ebgjoi edhe Joani, ushtar me origjin\u00eb t\u00eb shquar nga Edhesa (Mesopotami), i cili vendosi t\u00eb braktiste ushtrin\u00eb tok\u00ebsore p\u00ebr t\u00eb hyr\u00eb n\u00eb at\u00eb qiellore. Pasi hoqi dor\u00eb nga \u00e7do pasuri dhe lavdi bote, shkoi n\u00eb Jerusalem, m\u00eb pas takoi Kirin n\u00eb Egjipt, dhe menj\u00ebher\u00eb u b\u00eb dishepull e bashk\u00ebpun\u00ebtor i tij, si n\u00eb virtyte, ashtu edhe n\u00eb mrekulli.<\/p>\n<p>Nd\u00ebrsa persekutimet kund\u00ebr t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve po shtriheshin kudo, m\u00ebsuan se qeveritari Siriano kishte kapur nj\u00eb t\u00eb krishtere nga Kanopa, Athanasin\u00eb, bashk\u00eb me tri bijat e saj: Theoktistin, Theodhot\u00ebn dhe Evdhoksin\u00eb, q\u00eb ishin 15, 13 dhe 11 vje\u00e7e. At\u00ebher\u00eb vendos\u00ebn t\u00eb shkonin n\u00eb Kanopa p\u00ebr t\u2019u dh\u00ebn\u00eb zem\u00ebr shenjtoreve, se mos nga frika dhe mosha e tyre e njom\u00eb, vajzat e mohonin Krishtin. Arrit\u00ebn t\u00eb futen n\u00eb burg, por i zbuluan dhe i \u00e7uan para Sirianos. Ky, me mendimin se shenjtoret, duke par\u00eb vuajtjet e tyre do t\u00eb dor\u00ebzoheshin, urdh\u00ebroi t\u2019i torturonin shenjtor\u00ebt Kir dhe Joan para tyre.<\/p>\n<p>Por ata mbet\u00ebn t\u00eb patundur dhe u dhan\u00eb shenjtoreve forc\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb duruar torturat. At\u00ebher\u00eb qeveritari dha urdh\u00ebr q\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00ebve t\u2019u priteshin kokat dhe ata shkuan t\u00eb gjith\u00eb me nj\u00eb hap n\u00eb vendin e ekzekutimit. T\u00eb krishter\u00ebt mor\u00ebn trupat e tyre dhe i vendos\u00ebn n\u00eb kish\u00ebn e Sh\u00ebn Markut n\u00eb Aleksandri.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00eb shekullin e 5-t\u00eb, sh\u00ebn Kirili i Aleksandris\u00eb (9 qershor), i cili donte ta zhdukte kultin idhujtar t\u00eb Isizit n\u00eb Menouhli (Abukir), transferoi atje lipsanet e sh\u00ebn Kirit dhe Joanit. Mrekullit\u00eb dhe sh\u00ebrimet u shtuan dhe kisha u b\u00eb nj\u00eb nga vendet m\u00eb t\u00eb m\u00ebdha t\u00eb pelegrinazhit p\u00ebr bot\u00ebn e krishter\u00eb.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00eb shekullin e 7-t\u00eb, sh\u00ebn Sofroni i Jerusalemit u sh\u00ebrua nga nj\u00eb s\u00ebmundje e syve, pasi iu shfaq\u00ebn t\u00eb dy shenjtor\u00ebt: Kiri i sh\u00ebroi nj\u00ebrin sy me shenj\u00ebn e kryqit dhe m\u00eb pas Joani ia ktheu t\u00ebr\u00ebsisht shikimin, kur i puthi syrin tjet\u00ebr. N\u00eb shenj\u00eb mir\u00ebnjohjeje, sh\u00ebn Sofroni shkroi nj\u00eb lutje p\u00ebr mrekullit\u00eb e tyre.
