I ati ishte pagan, nd\u00ebrsa n\u00ebna judease, e quajtur Efniki. N\u00ebna dhe gjyshja e Timotheut, Loida, e rrit\u00ebn me p\u00ebrkushtim dhe dashuri p\u00ebr Shkrimet e Shenjta. T\u00eb dyja grat\u00eb ishin kthyer n\u00eb Krishterim nga apostulli i madh Pavli gjat\u00eb q\u00ebndrimit t\u00eb tij n\u00eb Listra (45). Kur erdhi p\u00ebrs\u00ebri n\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb qytet, disa vite m\u00eb von\u00eb (rreth 50), ai e gjeti Timotheun e ri plot zell dhe admirim p\u00ebr betejat dhe vuajtjet q\u00eb apostulli kishte duruar p\u00ebr Emrin e Krishtit. Me porosi t\u00eb v\u00ebllez\u00ebrve t\u00eb Listr\u00ebs dhe t\u00eb Ikoniumit, Pavli e pag\u00ebzoi, vuri duart mbi t\u00eb dhe e b\u00ebri shok n\u00eb veprat e tij dhe dishepull t\u00eb tij t\u00eb preferuar. Ai e quan: \u201cBiri im fort i dashur\u201d (I dhe II Tim. 1) dhe d\u00ebshmitar t\u00eb tij n\u00eb kisha, duke th\u00ebn\u00eb: \u201cSe si bir me t\u00eb atin, punoi bashk\u00eb me mua p\u00ebr ungjillin\u201d (Fil. 2.22). Megjith\u00ebse porosia e Ligjit u shkat\u00ebrrua me Hirin, apostulli e rrethpreu dishepullin e tij t\u00eb ri, me q\u00ebllim q\u00eb t\u00eb predikonte te judenjt\u00eb n\u00eb sinagogat e tyre, si dhe n\u00eb sheshe te pagan\u00ebt. I but\u00eb, i vet\u00ebp\u00ebrmbajtur, model i bindjes dhe i p\u00ebrul\u00ebsis\u00eb, sh\u00ebn Timotheu tregoi zell t\u00eb palodhur n\u00eb predikim, si ushtar i mir\u00eb i Krishtit (II Tim. 2.3). Ai ishte p\u00ebrfaq\u00ebsues i apostujve dhe instrument energjik i Hirit n\u00eb qeverisjen e Kishave t\u00eb Per\u00ebndis\u00eb, p\u00ebr ndreqjen e zakoneve dhe p\u00ebr ruajtjen e m\u00ebsimit t\u00eb mir\u00eb.<\/p>\n<p>Nga Ikoniumi Timotheu shkoi me Pavlin n\u00eb Frigji dhe Galati, e ndihmoi n\u00eb \u00e7do vend me predikim dhe lutje; pastaj, pas nj\u00eb vizioni qiellor, shkuan n\u00eb Maqedoni, predikuan Ungjillin n\u00eb Selanik dhe Veria, ku Timotheu q\u00ebndroi me sh\u00ebn Sil\u00ebn (Silvani), nd\u00ebrsa Pavli u kthye n\u00eb Athin\u00eb. Pas nj\u00eb kohe t\u00eb shkurt\u00ebr, Timotheu shkoi t\u00eb takonte apostull Pavlin, p\u00ebr t\u2019i dh\u00ebn\u00eb lajmin e trishtuesh\u00ebm t\u00eb kund\u00ebrshtimit t\u00eb t\u00ebrbuar t\u00eb judenjve t\u00eb Selanikut, dhe u kthye atje q\u00eb t\u00eb forconte dhe t\u00eb ngush\u00ebllonte besimtar\u00ebt (I Thes. 3.1-5). Meq\u00eb korinthian\u00ebt u rebeluan, me nxitjet e dishepullit t\u00eb tij, sh\u00ebn Pavli vendosi p\u00ebr d\u00ebrgimin e Titit, mori Timotheun me vete p\u00ebr nj\u00eb mision t\u00eb ri n\u00eb Maqedoni, hartoi duke bashk\u00ebpunuar me t\u00eb letr\u00ebn e tij t\u00eb dyt\u00eb drejtuar korinthian\u00ebve dhe erdhi vet\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb punuar p\u00ebr drejtimin dhe udh\u00ebzimin shpirt\u00ebror t\u00eb besimtar\u00ebve.<\/p>\n<p>Kur apostull Pavli nd\u00ebrmori udh\u00ebtimin e tij t\u00eb fundit drejt Jerusalemit, q\u00eb t\u00eb sillte frytet e ndihmave t\u00eb grumbulluara n\u00eb t\u00eb gjitha kishat, p\u00ebr t\u2019u ardhur n\u00eb ndihm\u00eb t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve t\u00eb Qytetit t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb (Vep. 20), sh\u00ebn Timotheu ishte shoq\u00ebrues i tij. Ai ishte i pranish\u00ebm n\u00eb arrestimin e Pavlit (Vep. 22 etj.), e ndoqi n\u00eb Qesari dhe n\u00eb Rom\u00eb, kur u kap rob p\u00ebr her\u00eb t\u00eb par\u00eb; por prej andej Pavli e d\u00ebrgoi me mision pran\u00eb kish\u00ebs s\u00eb Filipis\u00eb (Fil. 219-24). E arriti n\u00eb Lindje dhe, me t\u2019u liruar, e vendosi p\u00ebrfundimisht n\u00eb krye t\u00eb kish\u00ebs s\u00eb Efesit, duke i rekomanduar t\u00eb organizonin adhurimin dhe jet\u00ebn e krishter\u00eb, t\u00eb luftonin m\u00ebsuesit e rrem\u00eb, t\u00eb zgjidhnin me dallueshm\u00ebri an\u00ebtar\u00ebt e hierarkis\u00eb kishtare dhe t\u00eb \u00e7onin n\u00eb \u00e7do koh\u00eb grigj\u00ebn e Krishtit n\u00eb paqe, mir\u00ebkuptim dhe t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00eb (I Tim.). N\u00eb nj\u00eb let\u00ebr t\u00eb dyt\u00eb, d\u00ebrguar nga apostulli i burgosur n\u00eb Rom\u00eb dhe n\u00eb prag t\u00eb vdekjes, ai e fton dishepullin e tij besnik, t\u2019i shkonte pran\u00eb n\u00eb \u00e7astet e tij t\u00eb fundit (II Tim. 4.8). Timotheu u arrestua, por u lirua shpejt (Hebr. 12.23). U kthye n\u00eb dioqez\u00ebn e tij pas vdekjes s\u00eb apostullit.<\/p>\n<p>Thuhet se n\u00eb Efes takoi sh\u00ebn Joan Theologun, prej t\u00eb cilit mori nj\u00eb tepri hiri dhe ndri\u00e7im shpirt\u00ebror dhe, kur apostulli i dashur u internua n\u00eb Patmos, ai e qeverisi Kish\u00ebn duke p\u00ebrmbledhur brenda vetes s\u00eb tij frym\u00ebn e sh\u00ebn Joanit dhe at\u00eb t\u00eb sh\u00ebn Pavlit. Nj\u00eb dit\u00eb, kur pagan\u00ebt e qytetit p\u00ebrgatiteshin t\u00eb kremtonin nj\u00eb nga festat e tyre t\u00eb ndyra, t\u00eb cilat p\u00ebrfundonin gjithmon\u00eb n\u00eb orgji dhe vrasje, sh\u00ebn Timotheu tentoi t\u00eb nd\u00ebrhynte q\u00eb t\u00eb ktheheshin n\u00eb sht\u00ebpi. Por ata ishin b\u00ebr\u00eb si bisha t\u00eb egra, ndaj u sul\u00ebn mbi t\u00eb dhe e rrah\u00ebn. Dishepujt e apostullit mezi mund\u00ebn t\u2019ua rr\u00ebmbenin shenjtin nga duart dhe, gjysm\u00eb t\u00eb vdekur, e hip\u00ebn n\u00eb nj\u00eb vend t\u00eb lart\u00eb atje ngjitur, ku dhe fjeti n\u00eb paqe.<\/p>\n<p>Trupi i sh\u00ebn Timotheut u varros af\u00ebr varrit t\u00eb sh\u00ebn Joanit dhe shum\u00eb koh\u00eb m\u00eb von\u00eb, m\u00eb 356, lipsani i tij u transferua solemnisht n\u00eb Konstandinopoj\u00eb nga sh\u00ebn Artemi (20 tetor), me ato t\u00eb ungjillor\u00ebve Andrea dhe Lluka, p\u00ebr t\u2019u vendosur n\u00eb kish\u00ebn e Apostujve t\u00eb Shenjt\u00eb. Kreu atje shum\u00eb mrekulli, derisa kryq\u00ebzatat latine i vodh\u00ebn gjat\u00eb pla\u00e7kitjes s\u00eb qytetit, m\u00eb
