Niarku ishte b\u00ebr\u00eb i krishter\u00eb, nd\u00ebrsa Poliefkti jepej pas idhujve, megjith\u00ebse ishte shum\u00eb i virtytsh\u00ebm.<\/p>\n<p>Kur u publikua edikti i par\u00eb i persekutimeve, i cili i detyronte gjith\u00eb ushtarak\u00ebt t\u00eb d\u00ebshmonin publikisht besnik\u00ebrin\u00eb ndaj adhurimit zyrtar t\u00eb perandorit, Niarku i tha Poliefktit se ky edikt do t\u2019i ndante p\u00ebrgjithmon\u00eb. Poliefkti kishte pak njohuri p\u00ebr Jisu Krishtin, nga bisedat q\u00eb kishte b\u00ebr\u00eb me mikun e tij, prandaj iu p\u00ebrgjigj plot g\u00ebzim: \u201cJo, nuk do t\u00eb ndahemi, se nat\u00ebn e kaluar m\u2019u shfaq Krishti n\u00eb vizion, m\u00eb veshi me petk drite, pasi ma zhveshi rrob\u00ebn ushtarake dhe m\u00eb dhuroi nj\u00eb kal\u00eb me krah\u00eb\u201d. Ai kuptoi se b\u00ebhej fjal\u00eb p\u00ebr largimin e tij p\u00ebr n\u00eb qiell, n\u00eb korin e lavdish\u00ebm t\u00eb martir\u00ebve.<\/p>\n<p>Ishte i krishter\u00eb prej koh\u00ebsh, n\u00eb gatishm\u00ebrin\u00eb e mir\u00eb t\u00eb shpirtit; i mungonte vet\u00ebm emri dhe vula hyjnore e pag\u00ebzimit. Nxit\u00ebn nj\u00ebri-tjetrin t\u00eb p\u00ebrbuznin t\u00eb mirat dhe g\u00ebzimet e prishshme t\u00eb k\u00ebsaj toke dhe t\u00eb fitonin bukurin\u00eb qiellore. Kur Niarku i tregoi Poliefktit se martirizimi mund t\u00eb z\u00ebvend\u00ebsoj\u00eb pag\u00ebzimin dhe gjith\u00e7ka tjet\u00ebr q\u00eb ndihmon p\u00ebr t\u00eb hyr\u00eb n\u00eb ushtrin\u00eb e Krishtit dhe se n\u00ebp\u00ebrmjet tij (martirizimit) Ai, Krishti dhe M\u00ebsuesi, mund t\u00eb banoj\u00eb te ne, at\u00ebher\u00eb, ai q\u00eb digjej nga d\u00ebshira p\u00ebr t\u2019u martirizuar, i tha: \u201cMendja ime nuk mendon m\u00eb, ve\u00e7 gj\u00ebrat e qiellit, kam para syve t\u00eb shpirtit tim Krishtin, dhe madh\u00ebshtia e Tij m\u00eb shk\u00eblqen fytyr\u00ebn. Le t\u00eb shkojm\u00eb bashk\u00eb t\u00eb vuajm\u00eb martirizimin, le t\u00eb dalim p\u00ebr t\u00eb lexuar ediktin e perandorit\u201d. Kur arrit\u00ebn te regjistrimi, Poliefkti i guximsh\u00ebm e grisi p\u00ebrpara turm\u00ebs, vrapoi n\u00eb mes t\u00eb procesionit pagan dhe b\u00ebri copa idhujt q\u00eb mbanin prift\u00ebrinjt\u00eb.<\/p>\n<p>E kap\u00ebn menj\u00ebher\u00eb dhe e nxor\u00ebn para gjyqit. E d\u00ebnuan p\u00ebr sakrilegj. Asgj\u00eb nuk e ndalte p\u00ebr t\u00eb deklaruar veten e tij si t\u00eb krishter\u00eb. Pas xhelat\u00ebve t\u00eb lodhur nga dhuna q\u00eb kishin ushtruar ndaj tij, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt m\u00eb kot ishin p\u00ebrpjekur ta bindnin, i vjehrri, Feliksi, qeveritari i krahin\u00ebs, e la t\u00eb reflektonte, duke i kujtuar t\u00eb shoqen dhe f\u00ebmij\u00ebt. \u201cCil\u00ebn grua? Cil\u00ebt f\u00ebmij\u00eb? tha ai, mendja ime nuk \u00ebsht\u00eb m\u00eb atje, ajo \u00ebsht\u00eb kthyer drejt t\u00eb mirave qiellore dhe t\u00eb paprishshme. Sa p\u00ebr bij\u00ebn t\u00ebnde, n\u00ebse e ndien se duhet t\u00eb m\u00eb vij\u00eb pas, do t\u00eb jet\u00eb e lumtur, p\u00ebrndryshe do t\u00eb shkoj\u00eb n\u00eb humbje bashk\u00eb me ata q\u00eb ju quani per\u00ebndi\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>E shoqja, Pavlina, i shkoi me lot: \u201c\u00c7\u2019\u00ebsht\u00eb kjo marr\u00ebzi q\u00eb t\u00eb ka z\u00ebn\u00eb? Kush t\u00eb ka g\u00ebnjyer t\u00eb shkosh e t\u00eb thyesh dymb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb per\u00ebndit\u00eb tona?\u201d. \u201cN\u00eb qoft\u00eb se un\u00eb i kam mundur dymb\u00ebdhjet\u00eb per\u00ebndit\u00eb e tua, iu p\u00ebrgjigj Poliefkti, s\u2019ka m\u00eb mjet p\u00ebr ty t\u00eb gjesh per\u00ebndi k\u00ebtu posht\u00eb. S\u2019t\u00eb mbetet m\u00eb, o Pavlin\u00eb, ve\u00e7 t\u00eb vish pas meje dhe t\u00eb adhurosh Per\u00ebndin\u00eb e v\u00ebrtet\u00eb, q\u00eb t\u00eb shk\u00ebmbesh k\u00ebt\u00eb jet\u00eb kalimtare me at\u00eb qiellore dhe t\u00eb p\u00ebrjetshme\u201d. Si konstatoi se atleti i Krishtit e sfidoi dashurin\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb af\u00ebrmit dhe solli shum\u00eb idhujtar\u00eb n\u00eb besim, gjykat\u00ebsi e d\u00ebnoi me vdekje.<\/p>\n<p>Poliefkti shkoi drejt vendit t\u00eb ekzekutimit me g\u00ebzim dhe fytyr\u00eb t\u00eb ndritur, sikur fitonte lirin\u00eb, duke u dh\u00ebn\u00eb zem\u00ebr t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve t\u00eb tjer\u00eb. Kur pa Niarkun, e p\u00ebrsh\u00ebndeti dhe i kujtoi premtimin q\u00eb i b\u00ebn\u00eb nj\u00ebri-tjetrit. Pastaj tendosi qaf\u00ebn n\u00ebn shpat\u00eb dhe u pag\u00ebzua me gjakun e tij. M\u00eb t\u00eb zellshmit nd\u00ebr besimtar\u00eb e varros\u00ebn trupin e shenjtit n\u00eb Melitin\u00eb, nd\u00ebrsa Niarku e thithi gjakun e tij me nj\u00eb rrob\u00eb dhe nj\u00eb vit m\u00eb
