Si pjes\u00eb e krahin\u00ebs etnografike t\u00eb Lab\u00ebris\u00eb, ky fshat, ndodhet p\u00ebrgjat\u00eb bregut t\u00eb majt\u00eb t\u00eb Shushic\u00ebs apo si\u00e7 quhet ndryshe edhe Lumi i Vlor\u00ebs (1). Nd\u00ebrkoh\u00eb sipas gjeografis\u00eb rajonale, ajo, p\u00ebrb\u00ebn deg\u00ebn m\u00eb t\u00eb madhe dhe kryesore t\u00eb pellgut uj\u00ebmbledh\u00ebs t\u00eb lumit Vjosa. Me nj\u00eb gjat\u00ebsi prej 81.6 km, Shushica, nis nga Ku\u00e7i dhe p\u00ebrfundon n\u00eb Beshisht, duke krijuar nj\u00eb lugin\u00eb t\u00eb gjer\u00eb q\u00eb shtrihet midis vargjeve malor\u00eb Kurvelesh-Grib\u00eb n\u00eb lindje dhe \u00c7ik\u00eb-Lungar\u00eb n\u00eb per\u00ebndim. Po k\u00ebshtu, duke rrjedhur nga jugu n\u00eb drejtim t\u00eb veriut, ajo, merr me vete edhe p\u00ebrrenjt\u00eb e Smokthin\u00ebs, Vajz\u00ebs dhe Vllahin\u00ebs (2). I pasur me burime t\u00eb shumta natyrore, Lumi i Vlor\u00ebs, \u00ebsht\u00eb nj\u00eb zon\u00eb e banuar qysh n\u00eb periudh\u00ebn parahistorike, ku jan\u00eb gjetur gjurm\u00eb t\u00eb shumta qytet\u00ebrimi. Nd\u00ebrkoh\u00eb e hershme \u00ebsht\u00eb edhe ekzistenca e krisht\u00ebrimit n\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb trev\u00eb q\u00eb dokumentohet prej periudh\u00ebs s\u00eb antikitetit t\u00eb von\u00eb. Nj\u00eb fakt t\u00eb till\u00eb e d\u00ebshmojn\u00eb edhe veprimtaria e peshkopat\u00ebs s\u00eb dikurshme t\u00eb Amantias, si dhe nj\u00eb s\u00ebr\u00eb gjetjesh arkeologjike (3). T\u00eb tilla mund t\u00eb p\u00ebrmendim rr\u00ebnojat e bazilikave paleokristiane t\u00eb shek. IV-VI n\u00eb Mesaplik dhe Amantia, apo t\u00eb kishave mesjetare n\u00eb Xhyherin\u00eb, Sherisht\u00eb, Risili, Peshk\u00ebpi, Penkov\u00eb, Armen, Mesarak, Vel\u00e7\u00eb, etj (4). Nd\u00ebrkoh\u00eb q\u00eb nuk mungojn\u00eb edhe toponimet me origjin\u00eb kristiane apo legjendat dhe antroponimet e ndryshme, t\u00eb cilat ndeshen me shumic\u00eb n\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb zon\u00eb. Pik\u00ebrisht k\u00ebtu, nuk b\u00ebn p\u00ebrjashtim edhe Brataj, n\u00eb territorin e t\u00eb cilit kemi em\u00ebrtimet Sh\u00ebn Gjergj, Shtodh\u00ebri (Sh\u00ebn Tod\u00ebr), Gjinakriqi, (Gjino-Kryq), Guri i Qish\u00ebs (Guri i Kish\u00ebs), etj. Nd\u00ebrkoh\u00eb, d\u00ebshmi t\u00eb drejt\u00ebp\u00ebrdrejta dhe t\u00eb prekshme jan\u00eb edhe rr\u00ebnojat e kish\u00ebs dhe manastirit t\u00eb \u2018\u2019Sh\u00ebn Gjergjit\u2019\u2019, t\u00eb cilat ndodhen n\u00eb bregun e djatht\u00eb Shushic\u00ebs (5). P\u00ebrve\u00e7 toponimit \u2018\u2019Sh\u00ebn Gjergj\u2019\u2019, q\u00eb ruhet ende n\u00eb memorjen e banor\u00ebve vendas, nga ky objekt ruhen nj\u00eb pjes\u00eb e mir\u00eb e mureve t\u00eb naosit, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt i gjejme deri n\u00eb lart\u00ebsin\u00eb 2-3 m. Nd\u00ebrkoh\u00eb gjat\u00eb k\u00ebrkimeve arkeologjike t\u00eb vitit 2015, pran\u00eb kish\u00ebs u gjet\u00ebn edhe rr\u00ebnojat e nj\u00eb manastiri t\u00eb fortikuar me nj\u00eb sip\u00ebrfaqe 0,7 ha, t\u00eb vendosur mbi nj\u00eb kod\u00ebr me shk\u00ebmbinj dhe t\u00eb rrethuar me mure (6). Arkeolog\u00ebt ndesh\u00ebn p\u00ebrve\u00e7 mbetjeve t\u00eb kish\u00ebs n\u00eb an\u00ebn juglindore edhe gjurm\u00ebt e konak\u00ebve t\u00eb dikurshm\u00ebn n\u00eb per\u00ebndim dhe jugper\u00ebndim t\u00eb hap\u00ebsir\u00ebs s\u00eb tij. Po k\u00ebshtu, p\u00ebrreth kish\u00ebs u gjend\u00ebn edhe rr\u00ebnojat e nj\u00eb s\u00ebr\u00eb muresh dhe nd\u00ebrtimesh t\u00eb tjera (7). Zbulimi dhe prania e tullave, tjegullave, apo materialeve t\u00eb tjera t\u00eb p\u00ebrdorura, si dhe teknika e nd\u00ebrtimit t\u00eb tyre d\u00ebshmojn\u00eb se t\u00eb gjitha k\u00ebto objekte jan\u00eb nd\u00ebrtuar n\u00eb t\u00eb nj\u00ebjt\u00ebn koh\u00eb (8). Nga studimet rezultoi se kisha e \u2018\u2019Sh\u00ebn Gjergjit\u2019\u2019, \u00ebsht\u00eb e tipit nj\u00ebnef\u00ebsh me kryq t\u00eb brendashkruar dhe kupol\u00eb mbi kat\u00ebr mb\u00ebshtetje t\u00eb lira. Disa prej element\u00ebve t\u00eb saj p\u00ebrb\u00ebr\u00ebs kan\u00eb qen\u00eb: naosi, altari dhe narteksi. M\u00eb i ruajtur \u00ebsht\u00eb naosi kat\u00ebrk\u00ebnd\u00ebsh, brenda nefit t\u00eb s\u00eb cilin gjenden mbetjet e kat\u00ebr pilastrave katrore. Pik\u00ebrisht mbi to dhe muret an\u00ebsor\u00eb, mb\u00ebshteteshin harqet gjys\u00ebmrrethore t\u00eb qemerit, nd\u00ebrsa n\u00eb qend\u00ebr t\u00eb k\u00ebsaj hap\u00ebsire ngrihej tamburi me kupol\u00ebn (9). Po k\u00ebshtu, n\u00eb an\u00ebn lindore t\u00eb naosit ndodhej altari i pajisur me nj\u00eb absid\u00eb gjys\u00ebmrrethore t\u00eb nd\u00ebrtuar me gur\u00eb, midis t\u00eb cil\u00ebve jan\u00eb vendosur edhe copa tjegullash. N\u00eb naos, n\u00eb pjes\u00ebn e sip\u00ebrme t\u00eb faqes jugore, ruhen akoma edhe disa fragmente zbukurimi me shkronja t\u00eb realizuara, ku jan\u00eb p\u00ebrdorur si material tullat dhe tjegullat. Nd\u00ebrsa p\u00ebrgjat\u00eb aksit t\u00eb kish\u00ebs, n\u00eb pjes\u00ebn per\u00ebndimore t\u00eb saj, ishte vendosur narteksi me planimetri kat\u00ebrk\u00ebnd\u00ebshe dhe gjat\u00ebsi 9 m (10). Pik\u00ebrisht k\u00ebtu, n\u00eb an\u00ebn veriore dhe jugore t\u00eb tij ndodheshin dy hyrje monumentale t\u00eb pajisura me portik. Kurse hyrja p\u00ebr n\u00eb pjes\u00ebn kryesore t\u00eb kish\u00ebs, n\u00eb naos, gjendjej n\u00eb qend\u00ebr t\u00eb murit t\u00eb tij ndar\u00ebs me narteksin. Duke gjykuar nga p\u00ebrmasat e nj\u00ebjta me naosin dhe disa mbetjeve t\u00eb qemerit t\u00eb tij, arkeolog\u00ebt q\u00eb kryen k\u00ebrkimet n\u00eb terren si dhe studjues t\u00eb tjer\u00eb, mendojn\u00eb se edhe narteksi ka qen\u00eb i pajisur me nj\u00eb kupol\u00eb t\u00eb mb\u00ebshtetur n\u00eb kat\u00ebr shtylla t\u00eb lira (11). P\u00ebrsa i p\u00ebrket nd\u00ebrtimit, kisha, \u00ebsht\u00eb nd\u00ebrtuar me gur\u00eb t\u00eb lidhur me lla\u00e7 g\u00eblqereje, nd\u00ebrsa n\u00eb pjes\u00ebn e poshtme t\u00eb mureve, ndeshen edhe blloqe t\u00eb m\u00ebdha gur\u00ebsh t\u00eb gdh\u00ebndur t\u00eb marra nga nd\u00ebrtimet antike (12). Si rezultat i studimet e kryera mendohet se kisha \u00ebsht\u00eb nd\u00ebrtuar diku n\u00eb shek. X-XI (13). Nd\u00ebrsa arkeolog\u00ebt e rendisin k\u00ebt\u00eb objekt si manastirin m\u00eb t\u00eb vjet\u00ebr t\u00eb tipit t\u00eb fortifikuar n\u00eb territorin e vendit ton\u00eb (14). Po k\u00ebshtu, rr\u00ebnojat e kish\u00ebs s\u00eb manastirit t\u00eb \u2018\u2019Sh\u00ebn Gjergjit\u2019\u2019 n\u00eb Brataj, g\u00ebzojn\u00eb statusin monument kulture dhe p\u00ebrb\u00ebjn\u00eb sot nj\u00eb destinacion shpirt\u00ebror dhe historik n\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb zon\u00eb. \u00a0\u00a0 <br \/>* Rr\u00ebnojat e kish\u00ebs s\u00eb \u2018\u2019Sh\u00ebn Gjergjit\u2019\u2019 n\u00eb Brataj.
