Gjat\u00eb nj\u00eb pelegrinazhi<br \/>\nn\u00eb Vendet e Shenjta, ai shp\u00ebrndau<br \/>\nl\u00ebmosh\u00eb n\u00ebp\u00ebr kisha, n\u00eb manasti-<br \/>\nre dhe n\u00eb t\u00eb krishter\u00eb t\u00eb varf\u00ebr dhe,<br \/>\nkur u kthye, vendosi t\u00eb q\u00ebndronte<br \/>\nn\u00eb lutje t\u00eb vazhdueshme. Ishte 85<br \/>\nvje\u00e7 kur arab\u00ebt pushtuan Gjeorgjin\u00eb,<br \/>\ndhe vran\u00eb shum\u00eb t\u00eb krishter\u00eb, duke<br \/>\nfilluar k\u00ebshtu nj\u00eb persekutim t\u00eb<br \/>\neg\u00ebr. Sh\u00ebn Konstandini ishte nj\u00eb<br \/>\nnga t\u00eb krishter\u00ebt e par\u00eb q\u00eb u kap<br \/>\ndhe u \u00e7ua n\u00eb Tiblis. Duke i duruar<br \/>\nme g\u00ebzim mundimet e burgut, u<br \/>\nshkroi shum\u00eb murgjve p\u00ebr t\u2019u lutur<br \/>\np\u00ebr t\u00eb: nuk synonte t\u00eb lirohej, por<br \/>\nt\u00eb duronte mundimet me durim.<br \/>\nKur e nxor\u00ebn para Bugha-Pashait,<br \/>\ni cili krenohej p\u00ebr fitoret, Konstan-<br \/>\ndini shpalli se ato nuk i ishin dh\u00ebn\u00eb<br \/>\natij si shp\u00ebrblim, por se ishin m\u00eb<br \/>\ntep\u00ebr nj\u00eb nd\u00ebshkim p\u00ebr m\u00ebkatet e<br \/>\nt\u00eb krishter\u00ebve. Pas disa dit\u00ebsh, e<br \/>\nngarkuan me zinxhir\u00eb t\u00eb r\u00ebnd\u00eb<br \/>\ndhe e \u00e7uan n\u00eb Samara, kryeqytet<br \/>\ni Abasid\u00ebs, pran\u00eb kalifit Al-<br \/>\nMutavakil (847-861). Ky i propo-<br \/>\nzoi t\u00eb mohonte besimin e tij, q\u00eb t\u00eb<br \/>\nshp\u00ebtonte jet\u00ebn dhe t\u00eb nderohej.<br \/>\nPor shenjti iu p\u00ebrgjigj sovranit se<br \/>\nmundohej m\u00eb kot dhe se kishte pu-<br \/>\nshtet mbi trupin, por jo mbi shpirtin,<br \/>\nt\u00eb cilin ia kishte dh\u00ebn\u00eb Mbretit t\u00eb<br \/>\nQiellit dhe t\u00eb Tok\u00ebs, i cili ka pushtet<br \/>\nmbi jet\u00ebn dhe mbi vdekjen. Ata i<br \/>\nthan\u00eb: \u201cMos ji kok\u00ebfort\u00eb, sepse<br \/>\nk\u00ebshtu do t\u00eb humb\u00ebsh. Edhe ne<br \/>\njemi t\u00eb krishter\u00eb, por ishte e pa-<br \/>\nmundur t\u00eb kund\u00ebrshtonim, dhe tani<br \/>\nja se si nderohemi. Sa p\u00ebr jet\u00ebn e<br \/>\np\u00ebrjetshme, kush e di?\u201d. Shenjti i<br \/>\nlargoi nga vetja me p\u00ebr\u00e7mim, duke<br \/>\ndeklaruar se ai vet\u00eb do t\u00eb ruante<br \/>\nporosit\u00eb e Per\u00ebndis\u00eb. K\u00ebta shkuan dhe ia ra-<br \/>\nportuan t\u00eb t\u00ebra kalifit, i cili i ngarkoi<br \/>\nme detyr\u00ebn p\u00ebr t\u00eb proceduar vet\u00eb<br \/>\nn\u00eb ekzekutimin e bashkatdhetarit t\u00eb<br \/>\ntyre. T\u00eb gjith\u00eb<br \/>\nt\u00eb pranishmit pan\u00eb shpirtin e Kon-<br \/>\nstandinit t\u00eb ngrihej nga engj\u00ebjt n\u00eb<br \/>\nvendin e prehjes.
