\nJa si shprehet Alfons de
\nLamartini p\u00ebr profetin David dhe
\nPsaltirin, me rastin e nj\u00eb udh\u00ebtimi
\nt\u00eb tij n\u00eb Lindjen e Af\u00ebrme, kur
\narriti para Sionit:
\n\u201c\u00cbsht\u00eb Pallati! \u00cbsht\u00eb varri i
\nDavidit! \u00cbsht\u00eb vendi i frym\u00eb-
\nzimeve dhe i shprehjeve t\u00eb tij, i
\njet\u00ebs dhe i prehjes s\u00eb tij, vend
\ndy her\u00eb i shenjt\u00eb p\u00ebr mua, q\u00eb ky
\npoet hyjnor, aq her\u00eb m\u00eb ka
\nmagjepsur mendjen. Ai \u00ebsht\u00eb i
\npari nd\u00ebr poet\u00ebt e ndjenj\u00ebs. Ai
\n\u00ebsht\u00eb mbreti i lirik\u00ebve. Asnj\u00eb-
\nher\u00eb fibra njer\u00ebzore nuk vibroi
\nn\u00eb akorde aq intime, aq prek\u00ebse
\ne aq me pesh\u00eb. N\u00eb asnj\u00eb vend
\nmendimi i poetit nuk \u00ebsht\u00eb
\nngitur m\u00eb lart dhe nuk \u00ebsht\u00eb
\nfalur me m\u00eb shum\u00eb guxim. N\u00eb
\nasnj\u00eb vend, shpirt njeriu nuk
\n\u00ebsht\u00eb v\u00ebrshuar para njeriut dhe
\npara Per\u00ebndis\u00eb, me shprehje e
\nme ndjenja m\u00eb prek\u00ebse, m\u00eb
\nt\u00ebrheq\u00ebse, m\u00eb ther\u00ebse! T\u00eb gjith\u00eb
\nbrengat, madje edhe ato m\u00eb t\u00eb
\nfshehtat e zemr\u00ebs njer\u00ebzore
\nkan\u00eb gjetur tingullin dhe notat
\ne tyre mbi buz\u00ebt dhe harp\u00ebn e
\nk\u00ebtij njeriu!\u201d.
