I ati, pak<br \/>\nvite pas lindjes s\u00eb djalit, u arrestua dhe u d\u00ebnua<br \/>\nme vdekje martirike p\u00ebr Krishtin. Kur Gjergji<br \/>\nmbushi 18 vje\u00e7, u mobilizua p\u00ebr ushtar dhe e<br \/>\nshpun\u00eb n\u00eb Nikomendi, e cila n\u00eb at\u00eb koh\u00eb ishte<br \/>\nkryeqend\u00ebr e pjes\u00ebs lindore t\u00eb shtetit romak.<br \/>\nN\u00eb ushtri u \u00e7mua shum\u00eb shpejt. Pas luft\u00ebs s\u00eb Dioklecianit me<br \/>\npers\u00ebt, ku ai u shqua p\u00ebr trim\u00ebri t\u00eb rrall\u00eb, mori<br \/>\ntitullin e princit.<br \/>\nN\u00eb vitin 303 pas Krishtit, perandori Dio-<br \/>\nklecian, i nxitur nga ndihm\u00ebsi i tij Galer, i cili<br \/>\nishte nj\u00eb kund\u00ebrshtar i t\u00ebrbuar i t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve,<br \/>\nshpalli dekretin e tij t\u00eb par\u00eb kund\u00ebr fes\u00eb s\u00eb<br \/>\nkrishter\u00eb.<br \/>\nSh\u00ebn Gjergji ishte n\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb koh\u00eb 28 vje\u00e7. M\u00eb<br \/>\npar\u00eb shp\u00ebrndau nd\u00ebr t\u00eb krishter\u00ebt e persekutuar<br \/>\ngjith\u00eb pasurin\u00eb, pastaj shkoi te kryetari i Gard\u00ebs<br \/>\nPerandorake dhe deklaroi se k\u00ebrkon t\u00eb zba-<br \/>\ntohen kund\u00ebr tij dekretet perandorake t\u00eb perse-<br \/>\nkutimit kund\u00ebr t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve. Galeri dhe Dio-<br \/>\nkleciani u habit\u00ebn dhe u munduan t\u2019ia mbushnin<br \/>\nmendjen ta t\u00ebrhiqte deklarat\u00ebn, pa e detyruar<br \/>\nq\u00eb t\u2019u sillte flijim idhujve. Por ai nuk e pranoi<br \/>\nat\u00eb kompromis; p\u00ebrkundrazi nguli k\u00ebmb\u00eb n\u00eb<br \/>\npohimin e tij se ishte i krishter\u00eb. At\u00ebher\u00eb filluan<br \/>\ntorturat, por d\u00ebshmori gjithnj\u00eb fal\u00ebnderonte<br \/>\nPer\u00ebndin\u00eb dhe i lutej ta ndihmonte t\u00eb q\u00ebndronte<br \/>\nsa m\u00eb i fort\u00eb mbi gurin e patundur t\u00eb besimit.<br \/>\nShenjti psalte: \u201cDo t\u00eb lart\u00ebsoj, o Per\u00ebndia im, o<br \/>\nMbreti im dhe do t\u00eb bekoj emrin t\u00ebnd n\u00eb jet\u00eb t\u00eb<br \/>\njet\u00ebs; do t\u2019i k\u00ebndoj Per\u00ebndis\u00eb tim p\u00ebr gjith\u00e7ka,<br \/>\nPer\u00ebndis\u00eb i Cili po ma b\u00ebn rinin\u00eb t\u00eb g\u00ebzuar\u201d.<br \/>\nN\u00eb koh\u00ebn kur po zhvillohej kjo sken\u00eb e \u00e7udit-<br \/>\nshme, Diokleciani dhe ata q\u00eb e shoq\u00ebronin, t\u00eb<br \/>\nsigurt tanim\u00eb p\u00ebr vdekjen e sh\u00ebn Gjergjit dhe<br \/>\np\u00ebr m\u00ebnyr\u00ebn e hakmarrjes, kishin shkuar n\u00eb<br \/>\ntempullin e pagan\u00ebve ku u sillnin flijim per\u00ebndive<br \/>\nt\u00eb tyre. Papritur u doli p\u00ebrpara sh\u00ebn Gjergji i<br \/>\nsh\u00ebndosh\u00eb si molla, plot kuraj\u00eb e trim\u00ebri. Jisu<br \/>\nKrishti, p\u00ebr t\u00eb shp\u00ebrblyer vet\u00ebmohimin e p\u00ebr-<br \/>\nsosur t\u00eb atletit t\u00eb tij, dhe duke dashur q\u00eb, me<br \/>\nan\u00ebn e \u00e7udirave, t\u00eb p\u00ebrulte egoizmin perandorak<br \/>\ndhe t\u00eb t\u00ebrhiqte shum\u00eb shpirtra pagan\u00eb n\u00eb kri-<br \/>\nshterim, lejoi q\u00eb nj\u00eb engj\u00ebll i Zotit ta lironte<br \/>\nshenjtorin nga rrota e t\u2019i sh\u00ebronte menj\u00ebher\u00eb<br \/>\nplag\u00ebt.<br \/>\nDiokleciani e shikonte \u00e7udin\u00eb, por nuk mund<br \/>\nta kuptonte. \u00c7\u2019e pengonte? Verb\u00ebsia pagane.<br \/>\nPas habis\u00eb deshi t\u00eb jepte menj\u00ebher\u00eb urdh\u00ebr t\u00eb<br \/>\narrestohej d\u00ebshmori i madh dhe t\u00eb ekzekutohej<br \/>\nn\u00eb \u00e7ast. Por tek po b\u00ebhej gati t\u00eb jepte urdhrin,<br \/>\nnj\u00eb ngjarje e re krejt e papritur e tronditi p\u00ebrs\u00ebri.<br \/>\nDy nga kryegjeneral\u00ebt e tij, Anatoli dhe Pro-<br \/>\ntoleoni, njer\u00ebz t\u00eb d\u00ebgjuar e t\u00eb mir\u00eb, u paraqit\u00ebn<br \/>\nte perandori, i dor\u00ebzuan spaletat dhe shpatat e i<br \/>\ndeklaruan se edhe ata i besojn\u00eb Jisu Krishtit.<br \/>\nPara se Diokleciani t\u00eb jepte urdhrin p\u00ebr ekzeku-<br \/>\ntimin e tyre, ndodhi t\u00eb reja t\u00eb papritura shtuan<br \/>\nhabin\u00eb e tij. Shembullin e kryegjeneral\u00ebve e<br \/>\nndoq\u00ebn edhe shum\u00eb oficer\u00eb, si edhe turma<br \/>\nushtar\u00ebsh sidomos nga ata q\u00eb ndoq\u00ebn tragjedin\u00eb<br \/>\ndhe \u00e7udin\u00eb q\u00eb ndodhi me sh\u00ebn Gjergjin. Ata<br \/>\npohonin hapur besimin e tyre te Krishti, duke<br \/>\ndeklaruar se qen\u00eb t\u00eb krishter\u00eb. Galeri urdh\u00ebroi<br \/>\nt\u00eb arrestohen t\u00eb gjith\u00eb dhe t\u00eb ekzekutohen, gj\u00eb<br \/>\nq\u00eb u zbatua menj\u00ebher\u00eb. Pas k\u00ebsaj, Diokleciani<br \/>\np\u00ebrdori edhe m\u00ebnyra t\u00eb tjera p\u00ebr ta zhdukur,<br \/>\npor gjithmon\u00eb me ndihm\u00ebn e Per\u00ebndis\u00eb sh\u00ebn<br \/>\nGjergji fitonte mbi idhujtarin, duke realizuar<br \/>\nmrekulli t\u00eb tilla, si dalja sh\u00ebndosh\u00eb e mir\u00eb nga<br \/>\nfurra e g\u00eblqeres, kthimi n\u00eb jet\u00eb i t\u00eb krishter\u00ebve<br \/>\nt\u00eb masakruar nga pagan\u00ebt, d\u00ebbimi i per\u00ebndive<br \/>\nt\u00eb rreme t\u00eb tempullit etj. T\u00eb gjitha k\u00ebto mrekulli<br \/>\nkthyen n\u00eb fen\u00eb e krishter\u00eb me mij\u00ebra pagan\u00eb,<br \/>\nt\u00eb cil\u00ebt i pranonin me k\u00ebnaq\u00ebsi torturat dhe<br \/>\nvdekjen, t\u00eb bindur se do t\u00eb fitonin p\u00ebrjet\u00ebsin\u00eb.<br \/>\nNdaj, m\u00eb n\u00eb fund Diokleciani vendosi ta<br \/>\nekzekutonte.<br \/>\nShenjtin e \u00e7uan n\u00eb vendin e ekzekutimit. Aty<br \/>\nk\u00ebrkoi q\u00eb ta lejonin t\u00eb lutej. E lejuan.
