Ky \u00ebsht\u00eb dhe manastiri i par\u00eb i nd\u00ebrtuar n\u00eb ishull, nga Sh\u00ebn Elena dhe daton n\u00eb periudh\u00ebn midis viteve 327-328.<\/p>\n<p>Nj\u00eb nga objektet m\u00eb t\u00eb \u00e7muara \u00ebsht\u00eb dhe nj\u00eb pjes\u00eb nga Kryqi Shenjt\u00eb, i cili u la n\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb manastir po nga vet\u00eb shenjtorja. Historia na tregon se gjat\u00eb kthimit p\u00ebr n\u00eb Konstandinopoj\u00eb, Sh\u00ebn Elena ndaloi n\u00eb ishullin e Qipros, dhe nj\u00eb nat\u00eb ajo pa se Kryqi i Shenjt\u00eb u zhvendos n\u00eb maj\u00ebn e nj\u00eb kodre. Edhe pse u p\u00ebrpoq q\u00eb ta l\u00ebvizte prej andej, nuk mundej, por vet\u00ebm pasi la atje nj\u00eb pjes\u00ebz t\u00eb Kryqit t\u00eb Shenjt\u00eb, mundi ta merrte Kryqin. K\u00ebshtu filloi themelimi dhe nd\u00ebrtimi i manastirit t\u00eb shenjt\u00eb t\u00eb Stavrovounit, nga nj\u00eb kish\u00ebz e cila u kthye n\u00eb manastir.<\/p>\n<p>Pjesa m\u00eb e madhe e nd\u00ebrtesave t\u00eb tij \u00ebsht\u00eb ruajtur dhe ka ardhur deri m\u00eb sot, duke p\u00ebrfshir\u00eb dhe disa shtesa, nd\u00ebrtime p\u00ebr nevojat e manastirit.<\/p>\n<p>Objekti m\u00eb i shenjt\u00eb dhe m\u00eb i \u00e7muar \u00ebsht\u00eb ajo pjes\u00eb e Kryqit t\u00eb Shenjt\u00eb dhe gjithashtu n\u00eb t\u00eb gjenden nj\u00eb nga gozhd\u00ebt e litarit q\u00eb e kishte lidhur Jisu Krishtin me Kryqin, si dhe disa zinxhir\u00eb q\u00eb njihen si zinxhir\u00ebt e Sh\u00ebn Fanaretit, episkopit t\u00eb Pafosit (shek 18-t\u00eb) etj. Duke filluar nga shekulli i 16-t\u00eb deri n\u00eb at\u00eb t\u00eb 19-t\u00eb, n\u00eb manastir nuk kishte murgj p\u00ebr shkak t\u00eb reprezaljeve osmane, por kishte disa eremit\u00eb q\u00eb jetonin n\u00eb shpella n\u00eb af\u00ebrsi t\u00eb tij. N\u00eb fund t\u00eb shekullit t\u00eb 19-t\u00eb, nj\u00eb murg nga Mali i Shenjt\u00eb, Dionisi, u vendos n\u00eb manastirin e Stavrovounit n\u00eb vitin 1889, duke b\u00ebr\u00eb q\u00eb t&#8217;i rikthehej p\u00ebrs\u00ebri jeta murg\u00ebrore dhe shpres\u00ebtare. Nj\u00eb vit m\u00eb pas, m\u00eb 1890 edhe 3 murgj t\u00eb tjer\u00eb, po nga mali Athos do t&#8217;i bashkoheshin k\u00ebtij manastiri, si dhe shum\u00eb t\u00eb tjer\u00eb m\u00eb pas.<\/p>\n<p>P\u00ebrgatiti K.
