Nga dita e martirizimit t\u00eb tij filloi<br \/>\nnj\u00eb histori e re mahnit\u00ebse, q\u00eb vazhdon deri n\u00eb dit\u00ebt tona. Martiri i<br \/>\nmadh Dhimit\u00ebr u b\u00eb shpirti i qytetit, frym\u00ebzuesi, udh\u00ebheq\u00ebsi, ati,<br \/>\nmbrojt\u00ebsi dhe shenjtori kryesor i tij. Me gjakun e tij, ai vaditi far\u00ebn<br \/>\ne besimit t\u00eb krishter\u00eb, q\u00eb mbolli Apostull Pavli. Dhe ajo u rrit e lul\u00eb-<br \/>\nzoi duke dh\u00ebn\u00eb fryte t\u00eb mrekullueshme. Prandaj edhe shenjtori quhet Mirovlit,<br \/>\n(mirol\u00ebshues). N\u00eb fund u detyruan t\u00eb pranojn\u00eb mrekullin\u00eb dhe<br \/>\nhirin me t\u00eb cilin Per\u00ebndia e nderonte martirin e madh Sh\u00ebn Dhimit\u00ebr<br \/>\ndhe filluan edhe ata vet\u00eb t\u00eb merrnin miro q\u00eb t\u00eb sh\u00ebroheshin.<br \/>\nShum\u00eb her\u00eb qyteti i Selanikut pa ushtri barbare t\u00eb sulmojn\u00eb me<br \/>\neg\u00ebrsi p\u00ebr ta pushtuar dhe ta rrethojn\u00eb me k\u00ebt\u00eb q\u00ebllim p\u00ebr nj\u00eb koh\u00eb<br \/>\nt\u00eb gjat\u00eb \u201csi nj\u00eb kuror\u00eb vdekjeprur\u00ebse\u201d. Por u shp\u00ebtuan me hirin e<br \/>\nSh\u00ebn Dhimitrit. Selanikasit e pan\u00eb me syt\u00eb e tyre fare qart\u00eb t\u00eb<br \/>\nnd\u00ebrhyj\u00eb, t\u2019u jap\u00eb fuqi, sikund\u00ebr b\u00ebri edhe me Nestorin, t\u00eb shp\u00ebr-<br \/>\nndaj\u00eb flot\u00ebn armike, t\u00eb krijoj\u00eb shpesh panik nd\u00ebr armiqt\u00eb gjakatar\u00eb.<br \/>\nDhe nuk e shikonin vet\u00ebm selanikasit me syt\u00eb e tyre, por edhe ar-<br \/>\nmiqt\u00eb, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt nga ky shkak tmerroheshin dhe ia mbathnin t\u00eb frik\u00eb-<br \/>\nsuar. Shum\u00eb her\u00eb i pyesnin rob\u00ebrit se p\u00ebrse kishin ikur nga beteja<br \/>\ndhe ata p\u00ebrgjigjeshin: \u201cPam\u00eb nj\u00eb burr\u00eb flok\u00ebverdh\u00eb dhe t\u00eb shk\u00ebl-<br \/>\nqyesh\u00ebm, i cili q\u00ebndronte mbi nj\u00eb kal\u00eb t\u00eb bardh\u00eb dhe mbante veshur<br \/>\nnj\u00eb rrob\u00eb t\u00eb bardh\u00eb\u201d. Nuk \u00ebsht\u00eb aspak e rast\u00ebsishme se dit\u00ebn e kuj-<br \/>\ntimit t\u00eb tij, Selaniku u \u00e7lirua nga zgjedha turke disashekullore.<br \/>\nSipas t\u00eb dh\u00ebnave q\u00eb na japin mjaft tekste bizantine, selanikasit,<br \/>\nmir\u00ebnjoh\u00ebs p\u00ebr mrekullit\u00eb e tij dhe q\u00eb t\u00eb mos kishte njeri q\u00eb t\u2019i<br \/>\nharronte ato, pikturuan n\u00eb muret e kish\u00ebs \u201ct\u00eb gjitha episodet e luft\u00ebs<br \/>\ndhe se si shp\u00ebtuan me ndihm\u00ebn e k\u00ebtij atleti t\u00eb Krishtit\u201d.
