Athanas Kefalas lindi m\u00eb 1.10.1846, n\u00eb Turqin\u00eb evropiane, nga prind\u00ebr t\u00eb varf\u00ebr e shpres\u00ebtar\u00eb me shum\u00eb f\u00ebmij\u00eb. Pasi m\u00ebsoi shkrim e k\u00ebndim punoi n\u00eb Konstandinopoj\u00eb. Kur ishte nj\u00ebzet vje\u00e7 u caktua m\u00ebsues n\u00eb nj\u00eb fshat t\u00eb ishullit Kios, dhe meq\u00eb i p\u00eblqente jeta monakale q\u00eb f\u00ebmij\u00eb, u qeth murg me emrin Llazar, n\u00eb vitin 1876, n\u00eb nj\u00eb manastir n\u00eb ishull, ku dhe q\u00ebndroi p\u00ebr tre vjet &#8211; n\u00eb vitin 1877 u hirotonis dhjak dhe mori emrin Nektar. Kur mbaroi &#8220;gjimnazin&#8221; e at\u00ebhersh\u00ebm n\u00eb Athin\u00eb studioi p\u00ebr teologji n\u00eb universitet (1882 -1885), i p\u00ebrkrahur nga patriku i Aleksandris\u00eb Sofroni. Ai, e b\u00ebri n\u00eb Aleksandri prift, predikues e sekretar t\u00eb tij (1886), n\u00eb Kairo e b\u00ebri mitropolit me titullin Pendapolit (1889). Nd\u00ebrkoh\u00eb meq\u00eb intrigant\u00ebt e kthyen patrikun kund\u00ebr tij, shkoi n\u00eb Athin\u00eb dhe mori p\u00ebrsip\u00ebr t\u00eb jet\u00eb predikues n\u00eb krahina t\u00eb ndryshme dhe drejtor i Seminarit Kishtar t\u00eb Rizarit t\u00eb Athin\u00ebs, t\u00eb cilit i ngriti nivelin e tij t\u00eb ul\u00ebt (1894 &#8211; 1908 kur u largua vet\u00eb p\u00ebr shkak t\u00eb sh\u00ebndetit). P\u00ebrher\u00eb ka ndri\u00e7uar flaka e tij p\u00ebr virtytin dhe m\u00ebsimin e Ungjillit nep\u00ebrmjet t\u00eb cilave kultivonte shum\u00eb shpirtra; predikonte dhe n\u00eb Pire. M\u00eb 1898 vizitoi Malin e Shenjt\u00eb p\u00ebr dy muaj. M\u00eb 1908 u t\u00ebrhoq n\u00eb manastirin fem\u00ebror t\u00eb Sh\u00ebn Triadh\u00ebs n\u00eb Egjina &#8211; sot Manastiri i Sh\u00ebn Nektarit &#8211; t\u00eb cilin e kishte nisur q\u00eb m\u00eb 1904. Ushtrohej me p\u00ebrul\u00ebsi, meshonte n\u00eb sh\u00ebrbesa, b\u00ebnte pun\u00eb dore, ushqente shpirtin e atyre q\u00eb vinin tek ai, jepte l\u00ebmosh\u00eb, shkruante dhjet\u00ebra vepra t\u00eb r\u00ebnd\u00ebsishme teologjike, libra mbi moralin dhe fjalimet, shkruante artikuj t\u00eb ndrysh\u00ebm. N\u00eb qinovin (manastirin) e tij t\u00eb rrept\u00eb, me igumene t\u00eb verbr\u00ebn e shenjt\u00ebruar Kseni, u hidh\u00ebrua dhe nga pushtetar\u00ebt kishtar\u00eb dhe nga shpifjet p\u00ebr marr\u00ebdh\u00ebnie jo t\u00eb moralshme me murgeshat, ku si rrjedhim u posht\u00ebrua nga hetuesi&#8230; Pas nj\u00eb s\u00ebmundjeje me shum\u00eb dhembje, fjeti n\u00eb Athin\u00eb (8.11.1920) dhe u varros n\u00eb manastirin e tij.
