Esht\u00eb M\u00ebsuesi Ekumenik m\u00eb popullor, m\u00eb orator dhe m\u00eb i dashur. U lind n\u00eb Antioki (v. 354). E \u00ebma Anthulla n\u00eb mosh\u00ebn nj\u00ebzet\u00ebvje\u00e7are varrosi t\u00eb shoqin gjeneral, q\u00eb ishte edhe ai i krishter\u00eb, dhe mbeti gjithmon\u00eb e ve p\u00ebr hir t\u00eb Gojartit. Sh\u00ebn Joani fliste vazhdimisht, interpretonte Shkrimet e Shenjta, mb\u00ebshteste njer\u00ebzit, i ruante nga herezit\u00eb, zhvillonte vepra bamir\u00ebsie. Fitoi kudo nam dhe admiruesi i tij, kryeministri Eftropi – i cili m\u00eb pas u b\u00eb armiku i tij – e solli n\u00eb Konstandinopoj\u00eb n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb poshtruese, q\u00eb mos reagonte. K\u00ebshtu, m\u00eb 15 dhjetor 397 u dor\u00ebzua kryepiskop i saj. Predikonte dhe duartrokitej; udh\u00ebhiqte, organizonte dhe drejtonte – edhe pse m\u00eb von\u00eb i sh\u00ebrbenin ndihm\u00ebset e Sh\u00ebn Olimbiadh\u00ebs (12 korrik).
