Arseni i madh (8 maj)<\/p>\n

U lind n\u00eb vitin 354 n\u00eb Rome prej prind\u00ebrve ofiqar\u00eb. U dor\u00ebzua dhiak nga papa Damazi, si i virtytsh\u00ebm dhe i urt\u00eb. K\u00ebt\u00eb e d\u00ebshmojn\u00eb m\u00ebsimet dhe ndodhit\u00eb e jet\u00ebs s\u00eb tij. M\u00eb von\u00eb perandori i Per\u00ebndimit Gratiani (v. 375-383) e prezantoi tek perandori Theodhosi i Madh (17 janar), i cili k\u00ebrkonte m\u00ebsues p\u00ebr bijt\u00eb dhe pasardh\u00ebsit e tij, Arkadin (395 – 408) dhe Honorin (395 – 423). Osh\u00ebnari u bind, vuri t\u00eb motr\u00ebn n\u00eb nj\u00eb manastir dhe shkoi n\u00eb Konstandinopoj\u00eb. Edukonte bijt\u00eb e mbretit me rrept\u00ebsi, sipas porosis\u00eb s\u00eb babait t\u00eb tyre, i cili e nderonte tej mase, si edhe gjith\u00eb oborri, q\u00eb e quante “at mbret\u00ebror”.<\/p>\n

Megjithat\u00eb, pallati nuk i mbushte shpirtin. Duke u lutur, d\u00ebgjoi nj\u00eb z\u00eb: “Ik nga njer\u00ebzit dhe shp\u00ebto”. K\u00ebshtu q\u00eb u arratis (v. 395) dhe u b\u00eb murg i Skitit, n\u00eb per\u00ebndim t\u00eb Delt\u00ebs s\u00eb lumit Nil. Ushtrohej vet\u00ebm, por u b\u00eb shum\u00eb i njohur dhe t\u00ebrhoqi masa njer\u00ebzish. Me hegjemonin e Aleksandris\u00eb dhe me kryepiskopin e saj Theofilin, kishte b\u00ebr\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb bised\u00eb: “Na thuaj, avva, fjal\u00eb shp\u00ebtimi.
\n– Do t’ia mbani?
\n– Po!
\n– Kudo q\u00eb t\u00eb d\u00ebgjoni Arsen, t\u00eb largoheni”!<\/p>\n

Ai sillej jo mikprit\u00ebs dhe nuk i p\u00eblqente takimet, sepse e shk\u00ebpusnin nga Zoti. Pra, qortoi nj\u00eb an\u00ebtare senati t\u00eb ardhur nga Roma, e cila n\u00eb fund sheh dobi dhe k\u00ebnaq\u00ebsi. Krejt pa pron\u00eb, ai nuk pranoi nj\u00eb trash\u00ebgimi, duke th\u00ebn\u00eb se kishte paravdekur. Kreshmonte shum\u00eb; flinte vet\u00ebm nj\u00eb or\u00eb gjat\u00eb nj\u00ebzetekat\u00ebror\u00ebshit (!); vishej shum\u00eb keq dhe punonte q\u00ebllimisht aty ku mbante er\u00eb t\u00eb keqe – si kund\u00ebrpesh\u00eb e shijimeve n\u00eb pallat; lutej n\u00eb k\u00ebmb\u00eb gjat\u00eb gjith\u00eb nat\u00ebs. Kishte frik\u00eb Per\u00ebndie dhe mbante zi (saq\u00eb e lumuroi osh\u00ebnar Pimeni 27 gusht); por sidomos ai tregonte p\u00ebrul\u00ebsi. Donte gjithnj\u00eb t\u00eb “vendoste parim” virtyti, ai i t\u00ebr\u00ebvirtytshmi! Nxiste veten: “Arsen, lufto p\u00ebr at\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb cil\u00ebn dole nga bota”. Shkoi m\u00eb n\u00eb jug, n\u00eb Memfid\u00eb, p\u00ebr shkak t\u00eb nj\u00eb invazioni barbar dhe pas nj\u00eb dhjet\u00ebvje\u00e7ari u vendos n\u00eb Kanopin bregdetar (v. 442).
