Mori p\u00ebrpar\u00ebsi t\u00eb madhe me nd\u00ebrtimin e rrug\u00ebs s\u00eb madhe Egnatia p\u00ebr n\u00eb Maqedoni. Pasi kaloi n\u00eb Mesjet\u00eb n\u00ebn sundime t\u00eb ndryshme, u shkat\u00ebrrua m\u00eb 1273 nga nj\u00eb t\u00ebrmet. Sot qyteti \u00ebsht\u00eb mjaft i zhvilluar dhe ka nj\u00eb port me r\u00ebnd\u00ebsi.<\/p>\n<p>Selia episkopale orthodhokse e Durr\u00ebsit \u00ebsht\u00eb me origjin\u00eb apostolike. N\u00eb Ilirin\u00eb e lasht\u00eb, Durr\u00ebsi zinte vendin e 5-t\u00eb nd\u00ebrmjet n\u00ebnt\u00eb mitropolive. Para tij vinim vet\u00ebm Selaniku, Korinthi, Nikopoli dhe Kreta, t\u00eb gjitha Kisha me themelim apostolik.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00eb Patrikan\u00ebn Ekumenike gjat\u00eb perandoris\u00eb bizantine, Iliria me mitropoli Durr\u00ebsin z\u00eb vendin e 15-t\u00eb, dhe ka tet\u00eb seli vart\u00ebse. Mitropolia mbeti e bashkuar me Konstantinopolin deri n\u00eb shek. e 13-t\u00eb dhe n\u00eb fillim t\u00eb shek. t\u00eb 14-t\u00eb kaloi me Kryepiskopat\u00ebn e Ohrit.<\/p>\n<p>Tradita bizantine ka edhe nj\u00eb list\u00eb me episkop\u00ebt m\u00eb t\u00eb vjet\u00ebr t\u00eb mitropolis\u00eb s\u00eb Durr\u00ebsit.
