The New Academic Year Begins at the “Resurrection of Christ” Theological Academy. (7 October 2013)

21 Years of Theological Education

The Theological Academy, the highest educational institution of the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania, where cadres of clergy and laity are prepared theologically, began its 21st academic year on October 7th. This institution has been established and funded by His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios, since he was the Patriarchal Exarch, and it is not only important, but more than necessary to meet the spiritual needs of members of the Church.

On this day, the staff, the professors and the students attended the service of the Blessing of the Waters, praying that this academic year will be effective. In his speech, His Grace Bishop Nicholas, who is the Director of the Theological Academy, conveyed the wishes and the blessings of Archbishop Anastasios for a prosperous year.  And among other things said:

“Dear clergy, professors and students, the routines and difficulties of life make us forget the mission for which we are in this Academy. None of us have ever been forced to serve this purpose. Therefore, also this year a greater sense of responsibility is needed, we must work with something more, because God does not requiring only something, but everything we have from everyone in this Academy. This mission that is a path to God should be clear, despite our weaknesses. Let each of us be responsible for our duties and not only offer everything for ourselves as Orthodox Christians, but for the whole of our country.”

After the service and the blessing of all those presents, as well as the environments of the Academy, the teaching hours continued normally.
