Via Egnatia, rruga e madhe perandorake q\u00eb lidhte Rom\u00ebn me Konstandinopoj\u00ebn p\u00ebrmes Durr\u00ebsit dhe Selanikut<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a>, p\u00ebrcaktoi r\u00ebnd\u00ebsin\u00eb strategjike t\u00eb rajonit. Durr\u00ebsi, si &#8220;porta drejt rrug\u00ebs s\u00eb madhe tok\u00ebsore&#8221;<a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a>, funksionoi si pika thelb\u00ebsore e kontaktit midis Lindjes dhe Per\u00ebndimit. Krisht\u00ebrimi i ka fillimet e tij n\u00eb k\u00ebto territore qysh n\u00eb mesin e shekullit t\u00eb par\u00eb. N\u00eb letr\u00ebn drejtuar Roman\u00ebve Sh\u00ebn Pavli shkruan: <em>Me fuqi shenjash e \u00e7udish, me fuqi t\u00eb Frym\u00ebs s\u00eb Per\u00ebndis\u00eb, kaq sa q\u00eb nga Jerusalemi e p\u00ebrqark e deri n\u00eb Ilirik e kam mbushur me ungjillin e Krishtit<\/em> (Rom.15:19). Prania e nj\u00eb peshkopi t\u00eb Durr\u00ebsit (Epidamnus), \u00a0Qesari, nj\u00eb nga shtat\u00ebdhjet\u00eb apostujt,\u00a0 i vendosur sipas Tradit\u00ebs s\u00eb Kish\u00ebs nga Sh\u00ebn Pavli n\u00eb vitin 58 mbas Krishtit dhe e nj\u00eb peshkopi tjet\u00ebr martir, Sh\u00ebn Asti, n\u00eb vitin 98, d\u00ebshmon p\u00ebr pranin\u00eb e hershme t\u00eb krishter\u00eb n\u00eb rajonin ton\u00eb. Gjithashtu, pjes\u00ebmarrja e peshkopit t\u00eb Pulkeriopolis (Berati) n\u00eb Sinodin e Par\u00eb Ekumenik t\u00eb Nikes\u00eb (325)<a href=\"#_ftn3\" name=\"_ftnref3\">[3]<\/a> tregon q\u00eb tashm\u00eb krisht\u00ebrimi ishte mjaft i organizuar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kjo pozit\u00eb gjeografike i dha Ilirikut nj\u00eb rol unik: t\u00eb funksiononte si nj\u00eb hap\u00ebsir\u00eb sinteze dhe transmetimi t\u00eb qytet\u00ebrimit bizantin, duke ruajtur nj\u00ebkoh\u00ebsisht karakteristikat e ve\u00e7anta lokale. Rajoni i dha Bizantit perandor\u00eb t\u00eb r\u00ebnd\u00ebsish\u00ebm si Konstandinin e Madh nga Nishi, Anastasin I nga Durr\u00ebsi dhe Justininianin nga Dardania<a href=\"#_ftn4\" name=\"_ftnref4\">[4]<\/a>, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt form\u00ebsuan identitetin e perandoris\u00eb s\u00eb krishter\u00eb.
