\u201cKur ishte 10 vje\u00e7, i vdiq i ati, zyrtar nga Kapadokia, k\u00ebshtu q\u00eb nga Armenia, ku jetonin at\u00ebher\u00eb, u zhvendos me n\u00ebn\u00ebn e tij\u201d n\u00eb atdheun e saj, Diospoli (Lidha, Lod) t\u00eb Palestin\u00ebs. Megjith\u00ebse vet\u00ebm 20 vje\u00e7 dhe tashm\u00eb fare jetim, ishte kont i ushtris\u00eb romake. Gjat\u00eb p\u00ebrndjekjeve, kur zbuloi besimin e tij, u torturua nga perandori Dioklecian (284\u2013305). E shpuan me shtiz\u00eb, e shtyp\u00ebn me gur\u00eb dhe e kaluan n\u00eb \u201crrot\u00eb\u201d (At\u00eb q\u00eb torturonin e lidhnin t\u00eb tendosur mbi nj\u00eb rrot\u00eb. Kur rrota rrotullohej, trupi shqyhej nga thikat dhe ganxhat q\u00eb ishin posht\u00eb vertikalisht).<\/p>\n

Nd\u00ebrkaq nj\u00eb engj\u00ebll e shp\u00ebtoi, k\u00ebshtu q\u00eb besuan shum\u00eb veta dhe ua pren\u00eb kokat. U ndri\u00e7uan m\u00eb shum\u00eb njer\u00ebz, sapo doli p\u00ebrs\u00ebri i paprekur nga nj\u00eb grop\u00eb g\u00eblqereje. M\u00eb pas eci me k\u00ebpuc\u00eb hekuri t\u00eb skuqur me gozhd\u00eb nga brenda, u rrah me k\u00ebrba\u00e7 dhe iu dha helmi i magjistarit Athanas, t\u00eb cilit iu pre koka, sepse u kthye duke e par\u00eb at\u00eb t\u00eb mos d\u00ebmtohet, dhe madje t\u00eb ngrej\u00eb nj\u00eb t\u00eb vdekur.<\/p>\n
