    Recently, following the election and enthronement of His Eminence Andon, as Metropolitan of Elbasan, different people are making use of the media to cast doubts on a supposed conflict within the Orthodox Church. The self-proclaimed clergyman, Mr. Nikolla Marku from Elbasan, has not a single connection with the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania and is not recognized as clergyman by any Orthodox Church, Christian Church or any other religious community, both within and outside the country. The Albanian government officially recognizes the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania only.<\/span><\/p>\n

   The only connection that Mr. Nikolla Marku has with the Orthodox Church is the fact that for many years now, he has systematically attacked, insulted and denigrated the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania and its leaders through shameless slander. His irresponsible and vulgar language used in the statements and actions he makes is an indication of his ignoble character and low educational level.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Even this time he dares to attack and denigrate the honorable clergy and the other religious communities, undermining thus the religious harmony our nation boasts about.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Throughout the years the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania continues with unwavering unity to develop and make progress, despite the challenges and difficulties it faces.<\/span><\/p>\n
