Like every year, Orthodox camps for boys and girls will begin their activity on a regular basis. Meanwhile other daily camps are held in each diocese.
With gratitude and joy we always recall the special care that Archbishop Anastasios has shown since the early stages of the restoration from the ruins of the Orthodox Church especially towards the education of the young generation which has been one of his priorities. Part of his fatherly care has been the organization of summer camps for children and young people.
This is the twenty-second year since the camps started to be held (in 1996), through special devotion and care for the spiritual education of the younger generation, which had been deprived for decades. The camps are carried out with the blessing and funds provided by Archbishop Anastasios.
This year, the three camps for girls will be held as usual in the monastery of St. John the Vladimir, near Elbasan. The first two camps for boys will be held at the Monastery of St. Vlash and in the Theological Academy near Durrës. The third camp for boys, the one involving students, will take place at the Monastery of St. Theodore, near Vunoi, Himara.
The theme of all summer camps this time will be: “Whatever you do, do it all in the name of the Lord!” The first camps of children ages 10-13, will begin on June 30 and end on July 9th. The second camps, with children aged 14-17, will be held from July 12 to 21.
The third camp of boys will take place from July 20 to 31. The third camp of girls will take place from July 23 to August 1.
