On May 27, 2016, in the afternoon, Archbishop Anastasios, together with Bishop Asti and other clergy, visited the patients who got burned in the accident in Kruja and who were then sent to Mother Teresa Hospital in Tirana.
At the hospital, Archbishop Anastasios was welcomed by the Minister of Health, Mr. Ilir Beqaj, the Unit Director Ms. Manastirliu, and the medical specialist, Mr. Gjergji Belba, who informed him about the serious health condition of the suffering patients.
Next, Archbishop Anastasios, accompanied by the specialized medical staff, visited each of the eleven patients, praying for them, blessing them and encouraging them with fatherly love. The patients, though in severe health condition and in great pain due to the painful burns in different areas of their body, recognized their Archbishop, welcomed him and rejoiced in his fatherly visit, extending their thanks for his support in this difficult situation.
Finally, Archbishop Anastasios expressed his thanks to the Minister of Health, Mr. Ilir Beqja, to the Director, Ms. Manastirliu, to the doctor, Mr. Belba and to all the hospital staff for the maximum care they provided to the injured in the tragic accident.
