The visits of Archbishop Anastasios to the Metropolis of Korça have always been surrounded by love and special warmth. Beginning with the welcoming to the borders of this Metropolis, close to Lin, of many cars filled with clerics and believers and continuing with love and special care in every Orthodox service, visit or activity. This visit was even more special because of the fact that it was the 22nd anniversary of the Enthronement of His Beatitude, Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania, Anastasios.

After the Consecration of the Church of Pogradec, on Sunday, August 3, Archbishop Anastasios led the Divine Liturgy in the “Resurrection of Christ” Cathedral, in the city of Korça with its distinguished tradition. He was assisted by the Metropolitan of this Diocese, His Eminence John and the Bishop of Amantia, His Eminence Nathaniel, and 20 other clergy. As always, the church was packed with believers devotedly taking part in the Divine Liturgy. Also present were the mayor of Korça, representatives of the parties and associations, the Consul of Greece etc.

In his sermon, Archbishop Anastasios emphasized the message of the Gospel of the day, stressed that in our lives we should not dwell on finding the problems, but we must offer our contribution, however small, having as our guide and support the Lord Jesus Christ. Also, the Archbishop spoke about his special memories and connections with this city since the moments of arrival in our country.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Metropolitan of Korça, His Grace John, warmly thanked Archbishop Anastasios for his work during the 22 years since   the enthronement, emphasizing the appreciation and gratitude that all the believers and beyond should show for this outstanding work.
