With the blessing of Archbishop Anastasios, the Catechism Office, in collaboration with the World Vision in Albania, from 11-18 May conducted a festive Pascha activity with children in the area of Shpati (Elbasan).
This activity took place at the Holy Monastery of Saint John Vladimir. On 11 May children of the villages Shelcan and Mliza took part, and on 18 May children from Gjinar, Valsh and Pashtresh participated in the activity.
The program offered the children many activities. The opening prayer was held in the church of the monastery. The lesson of the day focused on the Resurrection of our Lord and the triumph over death. Children also learned the greeting of this feast, “Christ is Risen, Truly He is Risen”.
Children had the possibility to sing together, everywhere the joy of the feast was felt. What made this day even more joyfully were the voices of the children singing to God. Part of the program also included games related to the feast of Pascha. Children also participated in an arts and crafts project of decorating the Paschal egg. .
After spending a blessed and a joyfully day together the program ended in the church with the closing prayer. Children said that this program was very entertaining, educative and everywhere the joy of feast was felt. The children didn’t forget to ask if they would have other possibilities to take part in such activities at other times. Everyone gave thanks to God for everything. The staff and the children had lunch together.
This activity was organized by Father Irinea Gega and by the Catechist Armand Oga, in collaboration with World Vision in Albania. The students of the Theological Academy Andrea Ranxha and Bledar Skenderi also helped in this activity.
