Wholeheartedly sharing in the deep sorrow caused by the passing to the Lord of the Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, whom we had the joy to know for many years, we express our sincere condolences.
He was a prominent personality endowed with outstanding intellectual gifts and an unwavering faith in the Triune God, integrity, kindness, and sensibility. He will be remembered as a distinguished theologian with open horizons, a professor with prominent writings, a religious leader who worked steadfastly for the defense of the faith, the promotion of the Christian witness, for inter-religious dialogue, and for the consolidation of world peace. “Blessed are those who pass away, who die in the Lord. From henceforth now, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; for their works follow them” (Rev 14:13).
