On January 22, his Beatitude Anastasios, Archbishop of Tirana and All Albania celebrates his name day on the feast of St. Anastasios, the Persian.

On this occasion, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the Resurrection of Christ Cathedral in Tirana. It was presided over by Archbishop Anastasios who concelebrated with all the members of the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania. The church was packed with faithful coming from all the Metropolises. His Eminence and Metropolitan Ignat extended his heartfelt wishes to the Archbishop and mentioned in his word the outstanding work of His Beatitude in Albania comparing his sacrifice and devotion to a candle which constantly melts to spread out light. Next, Archbishop Anastasios, warmly thanked the participants for their wishes and highlighted once again the martyr’s symbolism, according to whom Christian faith is not limited by borders or nations.

After the Divine Liturgy in the headquarters hall of the Holy Synod, Archbishop Anastasios received congratulations from hundreds of faithful who also expressed their gratitude for the work of Archbishop Anastasios throughout the years for the resurrection of the Orthodox church.

All of them had a common wish for their Arch-Shepherd streaming right from their heart: “Many blessed years to you!”
