The new academic year for the students of the “Resurrection of Christ” Theological Academy began with the Service of the Blessing of Water on October 13th. The service was conducted by the Bishop of Apollonia Nicholas, in the presence of Bishop Asti of Bylis, the professors, the staff and the students. His Grace Nicholas conveyed to the attendees the blessings and best wishes of Archbishop Anastasios for a beneficial, blessed and creative beginning. A special congratulations and warm welcome was given to the 16 young students of the first year, who were selected through a competition of a large group of candidates.
It is also hoped that this year will be a fruitful one, with enriched teaching, full theological formation and high spiritual development, for the benefit of the community of the Church. Each of the students have the opportunity to progress in this direction, under designed conditions of a communal environment, with a the rich library of ecclesiastical and other books, and especially with the dedicated participation in the services, all developed within a warm family environment. Thus, through the study of theology, the liturgical experience, and the spiritual and community life, it becomes possible to achieve the primary goal of the high level preparation of clergy and lay people to serve the faithful and to meet the needs for clergy.
