On Sunday, May 9, when our Church celebrates the feast of Myrrhbearer women, in one of the new buildings of the new cathedral “Resurrection of Christ” was held a meeting of orthodox women from Tirana, Durrës, and the villages Rrushkull and Jubë. The activity was aimed at strengthening the connection between the Christian women and sharing their experiences.
There was an attendance of 100 women. The meeting was also attended by the Bishop of Bylis, Asti, and by the Father Asti Beshiri who serves in the Church of St. Paul in Rrushkull. In the speeches of the women from Durrës was noted that this group was established two years go and is strengthened with occasional visits that the Orthodox women from Tirana have made in Rrushkull and vice versa. The women stressed that Christian love is the foundation of this friendship and hoped that it be strengthened in the future.
Afterwards some women took the floor and expressed their impressions, thoughts and memories from their special events and their commitment to the Church over the years. Some other showed that many difficulties and problems in their lives were solved through many prayers to the Most Holy Theotokos, with the study of the Gospel and the Word of God.
Then it was a “Lunch of Love” with food prepared by the women themselves. Once the Bishop did the blessing of the lunch, the women began to eat starting with the good news “Christ is Risen” while they were breaking the red eggs.
