THE PURPOSE & THE GOAL

After 20 years of the creative efforts of His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios to rebuild the structures of the Church and especially those of the Church’s educational institutions, a Byzantine Music School has now been opened. Its goal consists in systematic musical training in liturgical services of the “Psalter”, relying strongly on the tradition, experience, and scientific studies, as well as on the modern methods. The philosophy of the school is to professionally qualify Psalters in order to assist with their performance of the services of the Church and the Divine Liturgy, and to exalt the souls of the believers closer to God. Also, the aim of the school will be the preservation, dissemination and the promotion of Byzantine Music as a traditional cultural, artistic and spiritual heritage.
